Two ranked strawweight, Tecia Torres and Mackenzie Dern are set to collide on April 9 at UFC 273.
Tecia Torres herself confirmed this news by sharing a post on Twitter. In this post, she wrote that she got her Top 5 Fight, and she would crack into the Top 5 rankings on April 9.
Mackenzie lost her last bout against Marina Rodriguez but before that, she was on a four-fight winning streak, and she won three of them via first-round submission.
On the other hand, Tecia Torres is on a three-fight winning streak. Her most recent win came against Angela Hill last year in August at UFC 265.
In 2020, Torres broke her four-fight losing streak with a win against Brianna Van Vuren, and she hasn’t lost a match since then.
Now, Tecia Torres vs Mackenzie Dern is part of the UFC 273 event that will be headlined by Aljamain Sterling vs Petr Yan, and Alexander Volkanovski vs Chan Sung Jung.
