UFC 272: RDA vs Fiziev to Co-Main Event, Card Officially Announced

UFC has officially announced the card of UFC 272. Rafael Dos Anjos(30-16) vs Rafael Fiziev(11,1) will be the co-headliner for the event.

RDA vs Fiziev was earlier supposed to be the main event at UFC Vegas 48 on February 19. However, Fiziev’s visa issues led to bout postponement and it was shifted to UFC 272.

Dos Anjos will be in second bout since his return to the lightweight division after a failed stint in the Welterweights. He defeated Paul Fedler in his return to lightweight via split decision in November 2020. He was supposed to face Islam Makhachev in a rescheduled bout at UFC 267, but he was forced to pull out due to injury.

Rafael Fiziev is currently on a five-fight winning streak, dating back to October 2019. His last fight came at December 4, 2021, Fight Night event against Brad Riddell, where he won via KO in round 3.

Jorge Masvidal vs Colby Covington grudge match will be the main event for UFC 272, which will take place on March 5 from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV. The other main card fights include Kevin Holland vs Alex Oliveira, Edson Barboza vs Bryce Mitchell and Sergey Spivac vs Greg Hardy.

Spivac vs Hardy was earlier announced for UFC 270. The bout was moved to this event after Hardy suffered a finger injury.
