Rafael dos Anjos Out of UFC 267 Bout Against Islam Makhachev
Rafael dos Anjos vs Islam Makhachev will not be a part of the UFC 267 match card anymore.
The promotion tried several times to schedule a match between these two lightweight contenders and all of them resulted in a failure. This time Rafael dos Anjos (19-11) was forced to withdraw from his UFC 267 bout against Islam Makhachev (9-1).
Makhachev and dos Anjos had a verbal feud on Twitter as well where Makhachev sarcastically said that he couldn’t believe dos Anjos is injured again.
Now, it seems like Islam Makhachev will get a new opponent for the UFC’s return to Abu Dhabi. Abdelaziz talked with MMA Junkie where he revealed that one among Tony Ferguson or Dan Hooker might replace Rafael dos Anjos.
Islam Makhachev vs Rafael dos Anjos was actually scheduled to happen at UFC 254 back in October 2020. However, the match has been canceled several times, and now it is canceled once again. Makhachev, who won his last eight bouts, is facing difficulties in getting a fight.
