Jiri Prochazka to Face Glover Teixeira at UFC 274 in May

UFC’s Light Heavyweight champion, Glover Teixeira’s first title defense will come against Jiri Prochazka, and the news was confirmed by the latter himself. 

Brett Okamoto of ESPN has revealed that Glover Teixeira vs Jiri Prochazka UFC Light Heavyweight championship bout got a greenlight for UFC 274 that will take place on May 7.

After a few minutes of Okamoto’s tweet, Jiri Prochazka also posted a tweet and wrote, “Its here! We are going to take the belt, directly!” This tweet was more than enough to confirm the news.

Prochazka is coming off a second-round TKO victory against Dominick Reyes and is on a 12-fights winning streak. 

On the other hand, Glover Teixeira recently defeated Jan Blachowicz at UFC 267 to win the UFC Light Heavyweight championship. 

Jiri Prochazka is renowned as one of the best strikers in the divisions, and hence he will certainly turn out to be a lethal competition for the 42-year-old Glover Teixeira.
