Jan Blachowicz vs Aleksandar Rakic to Main Event UFC Fight Night on May 14

According to the reports, Jan Blachowicz vs Aleksandar Rakic is rescheduled, and now it will serve as the headline bout on the UFC Fight Night event which will take place on May 14. 

The Light Heavyweight bout between Blachowicz and Rakic was supposed to main event UFC Columbus. However, Jan Blachowicz was ruled out of the match due to injury. 

Ariel Helwani reported that the former Light Heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz will return inside the octagon at UFC Fight Night 209 against Aleksandar Rakic. 

Jan Blachowicz is coming off a second-round submission loss against Glover Teixeira at UFC 267 where he lost his UFC Light Heavyweight championship. Teixeira snapped his five-fight winning streak which includes a win over the current UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya as well. 

On the other hand, Aleksandar Rakic is on a three-fight winning streak and is coming off a unanimous decision win against Thiago Santos. Before him, Rrakic defeated Anthony Smith back in 2020. 

UFC is yet to announce Jan Blachowicz vs Aleksandar Rakic Light Heavyweight and UFC Fight Night 209 event officially, but they are set to take place on May 14, 2022.
