Recently Diaz and Poirier had a back and forth on Twitter over a possible rematch. The conversation was initiated by Diaz as he stated that he is available for a match in January 2022.
Dustin Poirier who recently lost a title bout against Charles Olivera quickly agreed to fight him. As a result, Dana White addressed their conversation at UFC Vegas 45 post-fight press conference and stated that if they want this fight and the fans want to see it too then he has no problem in booking it.
Poirier also had a chat with MMA Fighting where he agreed to the fight against Nate Diaz. However, the latter shifted his focus to the trilogy against Conor McGregor.
Initially, Dustin Poirier vs Nate Diaz was supposed to take place at UFC 230. However, Diaz reportedly didn’t sign the contract and then Poirier withdrew from the match due to the injury.
