Colby Covington stated that the current UFC Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman had no choice but to fight him at UFC 268 or else the promotion will strip down his title.

It will be a rematch of their UFC 245 bout where Usman knocked out Covington in the fifth round. However, Covington wasn’t really happy with the stoppage and several calls the referee made during the match.

Despite all that Colby Covington never gets a rematch until now. Usman and his manager didn’t think that Covington deserved a rematch. However, the much-awaited rematch between Usman and Covington will finally happen on November 6 at UFC 268 now.

Colby Covington recently had a chat with ESPN, where he stated that the journey to this rematch has been tough. Usman and his manager continuously refused a rematch and tried every single thing to avoid it.

They agreed after UFC gave him no choice and threatened to strip his title. Covington also mentioned the fact that Usman is getting easy paychecks by finishing off lightweight opponents inside the octagon. According to Covington, the opponents Usman defeated shouldn’t even be here in the welterweight division.

Now, it will be interesting to see whether Colby Covington manages to finish off Kamaru Usman at UFC 268 or will the champion successfully defends his title and shut the mouth of everyone on November 6.
