Kell Brooke vs Amir Khan Announced for February 19, 2022

Former Welterweight Champions Amir Khan(34-5) and Kell Brook(39-3) will clash in Manchester on February 19, 2021.

Promoters Boxxer confirmed that the bout between the two British nationals is confirmed now after the reports from last week that the deal was close. The bout will take place at Manchester Arena and will air via Sky Sports Box Office.

The pair have avoided the call for the fight for almost a decade now. They were on the verge of signing a deal in 2016. But both fighters choose to challenge middleweight champions. Brook went after WBC, IBF, and IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin while Khan fought WBC and the Ring middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez.

Both fighters have also recently suffered defeats to WBO Welterweight Champion Terrance Crawford. Khan challenged Crawford in April 2019 and lost via sixth-round TKO. He later defeated Billy Dib in July that year via fourth-round TKO.

Brook’s fourth-round TKO loss to Crawford was his last bout in November last year. He will be returning to the ring after 15 months.
