The current Undisputed Light Welterweight champion Josh Taylor is all set to collide against WBO mandatory challenger and undefeated boxer Jack Catterall. Catterall is, in fact, waiting for his title bout since January 2019.

Taylor appreciated Catterall’s patience and stated that Catterall made a smart move by letting him fight Ramirez, as now he has a chance to fight for all titles at once.

Taylor won the IBF World title from Ivan Baranchyk on May 18, 2019. He later won the WBA(super) and the Ring titles from Regis Prograis on October 26, 2019. He then swept WBC and WBO titles from José Ramírez on May 22, 2021.

Since becoming the mandatory challenger in January 2019, Catterall has defeated Oscar Amador, Timo Schwarzkopf and Abderrazak Houya. But, his last match came in late 2020. This bout was earlier supposed to take place on December 18, but Taylor suffered an injury and the bout is postponed to February 26.
