NXT Announces Multiple Championship Matches for Next Week

Adam Cole will defend NXT Championship against Matt Riddle on 2 October episode

NXT has confirmed the NXT Championship and Tag Team matches for next week episode on 2 October 2019 as it will start going head to head against AEW Dynamite.

Matt Riddle won the number #1 contender’s match for NXT Championship against Killian Dain at NXT episode last night. After the match, Adam Cole came out to the ring to taunt Riddle. In reply, Riddle put Cole in an armbar and rest of the Undisputed Era had to come out to bail him out.

Later, the commentary team confirmed that the NXT title match between Adam Cole and Matt Riddle will take place next week. Not only this, NXT has compiled a mini Takeover kind of match card for next week’s episode.

NXT already announced last week that the NXT Women’s Championship match between Shayna Baszler and Candice LeRae would take place at 2 October episode. Candice LeRae won the no. #1 contender fatal 4-way match at NXT’s USA premiere episode on 18 September.

Also announced is the NXT Tag Team Championship match between Bobby Fish and Kyle O’ Reilly from Undisputed Era and the Street Profits. Fish and O’ Reilly won the title from the Street Profits last month. Earlier this month, the Street Profits, while appearing on the MSG Edition of RAW, announced that they want a rematch for the NXT Tag titles.

NXT and AEW Dynamite will air on Wednesdays in 8-10 PM EST primetime slots going forward. While NXT has started airing on USA Network from last week itself, AEW Dynamite will air from next Wednesday, 2 October. The first episode of Dynamite will feature the first AEW Women’s Championship match between Riho and Nyla Rose.
