Daniel Bryan and Rowan will defend their SmackDown Tag Team Championship against the Usos at Money in the Bank(MITB) this Sunday.
The Hardy Boyz were forced to relinquish the SmackDown Tag Team Titles due to an injury to Jeff Hardy. Last week, Shane McMahon was originally set to hand the titles directly to Daniel Bryan and Rowan. But before he could crown them, the Usos, originally under RAW roster, arrived via the Wild Card Rule and convinced Shane that Bryan and Rowan should earn the titles in a match against them.
During the subsequent match for the vacant championships, Bryan and Rowan stood tall as Rowan hit Jey Usos with the Iron Claw Slam to get the three-count and with it the SmackDown Tag Team Titles. These teams also faced off last night at SmackDown again during the 4-on-3 handicapped match. The rematch was announced earlier today via WWE’s social media platforms and will take place at the Kick-off Show.
The interesting thing to note here is that the Usos are still under RAW roster. So, if they manage to win the titles from the Planet’s tag team, will they be transferred back to SmackDown or will they keep appearing at SmackDown under the wildcard rule.
