WWE SmackDown Live Results Sept 16, 2022- Logan Paul Appears
Welcome to the Live Results blog for WWE SmackDown episode of September 16, 2022, which will feature Logan Paul appearing on the show to start his feud with Roman Reigns.
Logan Paul said on his podcast that he is ready to face Roman Reigns now. After he got into a back and forth with Paul Heyman, Triple H invited Logan to come to Smackdown to handle things.
Apart from this, the episode will also feature #1 contender match for WWE Tag Team Championship with New Day, Hit-Row, The Brawling Brutes & Imperium clashing to earn a title shot. Expect the build-up towards Extreme Rules event to continue with storylines between Ronda Rousey and SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan, Drew McIntyre and Karrion Kross among others.

Logan Paul Issues Challenge!
Logan Paul comes out to open the show. He starts by saying that he did it again by saying something stupid. He tells the crowd how he said that he could wrestle Roman. He brings up how he faced Floyd Mayweather and has not being paid for it. Logan goes on to challenge to attend a press conference he has scheduled tomorrow in Las Vegas, and asks Roman to attend it. Paul Heyman comes out to interrupt and has Sami Zayn and the Bloodline with him. Heyman gets into the ring while the other go and stand around the announce table.
He shakes hands with Logan. Heyman says if there is anyone outside WWE that could be the Paul Heyman guy, it is Logan Paul. He gives Logan props for going toe to toe with Mayweather, but takes a jab saying that Logan is 6′ 2″ while Mayweather is just 5 something. Logan shoots at Heyman saying Heyman has never fought anyone. Heyman then brings up how Jake Paul is facing Anderson Silva and will get knocked out surely. He advises Logan to not take on Roman.
Logan goes on to challenge Roman for the Universal Championship. Heyman says now he has to handle him. He calls on Solo Sikoa. Before Solo could get into the ring, Logan asks Heyman to take a bet that Solo could not drop him. Sami Zayn interrupts them and tells Heyman that Roman should have let him handle Logan. Heyman throws the mic away and goes to the floor. Sami goes to talk to Logan, but Logan drops him with a big punch. The Bloodline tries to attack Logan but he runs away. Ricochet comes out and stands beside Logan before his scheduled match against Sami.
Ricochet vs Sami Zayn
They lock up and Ricochet brings him to the floor. Sami wrenches him arm. Ricochet turns it around. Sami hits a kick to midsection to break free. Sami hits a shoulder tackle before putting on a chin lock. Ricochet runs the ropes and dodges Sami multiple times. He hits headscissors and more quick moves. Sami moves to the floor. He engages in an argument with Logan on the floor and Ricochet hits him with a basement slide dropkick. Sami trips Ricochet on the ropes as he was going for a springboard. Sami slams his face into the turnbuckle. Sami hits a lariat to get a two-count. Ricochet comes back with headscissors. Sami pushes him off the turnbuckle and into the barricade.
Ricochet meets Sami on the top turnbuckle as we return. Sami pushes him back but Ricochet catches him midair with a dropkick. Ricochet hits sidekicks and another headscissors. A springboard crossbody gets him a two-count. Sami blocks recoil and then gets his knees up on a standing moonsault. Ricochet nails a superkick after blocking Blue Thunderbomb. Ricochet goes to the top but Jimmy Uso distracts him. Sami hits Blue Thunderbomb but Logan has the referee distracted. Ricochet kicks out of the pin after the referee is late.
Ricochet hits headscissors takedown into a rana pin for a two-count. Jimmy distracts Ricochet and Sami hits Ricochet with half and half suplex. But Jey gets into the ring to distrac the referee and save Ricochet from getting pinned again. Sami gets into Jey’s face on the floor. Jimmy and Solo try to separate them. Ricochet hits a dive on Bloodline to take them out. He brings Sami back to the ring and hits Shooting Star Press to get the pin.
Winner – Ricochet
After the match, the Bloodline prepares for an attack on Logan and Ricochet. Madcap Moss comes out to the ring with a steel chair to stop this from happening.
Karrion Kross gets a video promo. Kross talks about Judgement Day and says Drew McIntyre got judgement from the self-appointed public executioner. He says Drew tried to fight back but like everyone else, he was put down again. Kross says he will continue to keep Drew in loop of agony he has constructed for him.
Strowman Express Rolls On!
Max Dupri and Maxxine Dupri are in the middle of the ring with a spotlight on them. Max says they are here to present Maximum Male Models back to school collection. Mace and Mansoor come out in their school costume on the stage. Braun Strowman’s music hits and their face changes into fear. Strowman runs them over with a running tackle. He throws both Mace and Mansoor into the barricade before throwing Mansoor into the ring. Strowman hits powerbomb on Mansoor.
Alpha Academy’s Chad Gable’s music hits and he comes out on the stage. Otis attacks Strowman from behind but Strowman drops him with a clothesline. Gable comes into the ring and Strowman goes for a powerslam. Otis saves Gable and hits Strowman with World’s Strongest Slam. Otis and Gable leave the ring, but Strowman is back to his feet just in seconds. Strowman screams at Otis to get into the ring, but Gable stops Otis and takes him back up the ramp.
Bayley comes out to the ring with Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai. Bayley introduces how Kai and Sky are women’s tag team champions. Kai says they can go to anywhere anytime now. Sky says SmackDown is there show now. Bayley talks about how Damage Control now has power to determine title destiny and what happens in RAW and SmackDown. Raquel Rodriguez comes out to interrupt them and says she does not see any power here. Damage Control leaves the pin as Raquel prepares for the match next. We cut to a break.
Bayley vs Raquel Rodriguez
Bayley looks for an escape before they lock up. Bayley slaps Raquel and leaves to the floor. Raquel follows and tackles Kai to the mat. Bayley tries to catch her on the ropes but Raquel drops Bayley, hits a corner splash and a slam to get a two-count. Bayley avoids a kick on the apron and kicks Raquel to the floor. Bayley catches Raquel with several stomps. Raquel for a powerslam but Bayley slips away. Raquel is able to drop Bayley and go to the top. Distraction from Iyo and Kai allows Bayley to trip Raquel from the secondrope. She kicks at Raquel’s knee against the turnbuckle.
Bayley starts to work on Raquel’s injured knee now. Raquel kicks her away. Bayley counters with a kick to her knee again. She hits a leg DDT. Raquel picks her up and throws her in the corner to hit clotheslines. Raquel hits a headbutt, a shoulder tackle, a punch and a couple of fallaway slams. Raquel goes to the ropes and once again Damage Control distracts her. Raquel pulls Kai and Sky into the ring and hits them with Vader bomb. Bayley comes back to the ring. Dakota distracts the referee and Sky rakes Raquel’s eyes. Bayley hits Roseplant to get the pin.
Winner – Bayley
Damage Control attack Raquel after the match. Shotzi runs out to make the save.
Ronda Rousey is with Kayla Braxton for an interview. Kayla asks about her match against Liv Morgan at Summerslam ending in controversy. Ronda replies there will be no controversy this time around. SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan comes in and asks Kayla to talk to Ronda alone. Liv says Ronda does not respect her despite beating her twice. She challenges Ronda in an Extreme Rules match. Ronda says it will be Liv’s funeral.
We cut back to the commentators, but Drew McIntyre jumps on the announce table to cut a promo on Karrion Kross. Drew dares Kross to come face to face with him. Drew says Kross is so obsessed with time, but time is running out for him and he needs to worry about the Claymore which will come after 3-2-1.
The Usos are backstage with Solo Sikoa. Solo tells The Usos to stay back as Jey is off his game today. Solo takes only Sami with him as he makes his entrance. Madcapp Moss makes his entrance to take us to the break.
Solo Sikao(c) vs Madcapp Moss – NXT North American Championship
They lock up and come to a stalemate. Moss and Solo lock up again. Moss pushes Solo away. He puts on a waistlock. Solo hits back elbows. Moss nails him with a punch and knees to midsection. Solo drops him with a back elbow. Solo hits a headbutt with Moss on the mat. Solo hits another headbutt after Moss gets back to his feet. Moss takes a running start and hits a big tackle. Moss clotheslines him to the floor. Sami distracts Moss and Solo runs him over with a clothesline. Solo slams Moss into the barricade.
Back to the ring, Solo hits a spinning heel kick. He continues to be in control for a while. Solo puts on a lock Moss’ shoulders. Moss gets back to his feet but Solo whips him hard to the corner and hits a belly-to-belly suplex. Solo hits a hip attack in the corner to get a two-count. Moss hits a couple of punches but Solo drops him back with a big shot of his own. Solo stomps at him in the corner. Sami continues to talk trash with Moss. Moss takes out Solo’s knee with a tackle to counter another hip attack. Moss fires in punches before a clothesline, a forearm and drops him to the mat face-first.
Moss hits more tackles in the corner and a side suplex to get a two-count. Solo hits a back elbow and a headbutt. Moss fights out of a Samoan Drop. Solo counters again and hits a Samoan Drop to get a near fall. Moss rolls him up for a two-count. He catches Solo and hits a fallaway slam. Sami pulls Solo out of the ring to save him from a spear. Moss runs after Sami, and Solo catches him with a superkick. Solo hits Rockbottom to get the pin.

Hit-Row(Top Dolla) vs The Brawling Brutes(Butch & Rdige Holland) vs Imperium(Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci) vs New Day(Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) – 4-Way Tag Team match for #1 Contender for unified WWE Tag Team Championship
Butch and Kaiser start with a brawl in the middle. They go to the floor where Vinci and Holland also get involved. Top Dolla throws Adonis onto others on the floor. Vinci cuts off Top Dolla with a shot at the knee. Woods hits Vinci with a Brogue kick. Woods hits a suicide dive and Kofi follows with one of his own to take us to the break.
Kaiser is in control against Butch as we return. Kaiser hits a big running kick on his chest. Butch hits a clothesline after some leapfrogs and dropdowns to avoid Kaiser’s charge. Butch goes for some joint manipulation before stomping on the arm. He hits a dropkick before Holland tags in for double-team dropkick/suplex combo. Vinci takes a cheap shot after Kaiser takes Holland to the corner. Vinci tags in to put on a lock. Vinci hits uppercuts and chops. Holland hits suplex to send him to the corner.
Top Dolla tags in and Holland hits him with punches and uppercuts. Top Dolla hits a suplex now. Adonis comes in and Dolla drops him on Holland. Adonis hits a dropkick on Holland to send him to the corner. Kofi tags in and hits a dropkick on Adonis before hitting Boom drop. Kaiser comes in and takes Kofi to corner to tag himself in. Tag to Vinci as Kaiser drops Woods off the apron. Imperium hit double dropkick in the corner on Kofi to take us to a break.
Kofi fights back to send Kaiser to the floor with a back body drop. Kofi hits another back body drop on Kaiser and tags in Woods. Vinci comes in from the other side and runs riot with quick moves on Vinci and Kaiser. Woods continues with momentum and takes out everyone one by one. Woods and Vinci are left in the ring now. Vinci drops him with a lariat. Butch tags in from Vinci. He kicks Hit-Roww off the apron. He hits a moonsault on Imperium before wiping out Kofi. A snap German suplex on Adonis before a stomp and kick to the back. Top Dolla gets into the ring and hits a kick. He picks up Kofi, Butch and Woods at the same time and hits them with a slam.
Holland hits him with Alabama Slam to get a two-count. Woods tags in from Holland. Adonis comes in for Top Dolla. Woods hits a superkick. Kofi hits a suicide dive on Top Dolla and a splash on Adonis. Butch breaks the pin. Kofi hits another dive. Vinci tags in from Adonis. Imperium hits Imperium bomb on Kofi but Holland has tagged in from Kaiser. Holland throws Kaiser and Vinci out and pins Kofi.
