Main Event for Wrestle Kingdom 16 Night II Confirmed
NJPW has announced the main event for the second night of their upcoming PPV event, Wrestle Kingdom 16.
It will feature Will Ospreay challenging the winner of Shingo Takagi vs Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Takagi and Okada will collide in the main event of Wrestle Kingdom Night One on January 4.
The official Twitter account of NJPW also announced the main event for January 5 at Tokyo Dome. Earlier this year, Ospreay vacated the IWGP championship due to an injury. Following this event, Shingo Takagi won the vacant title.
Ospreay had already defeated Takagi twice this year. So, Takagi must be looking forward to taking his revenge. However, in order to do that, he has to survive Okada first at the Tokyo Dome.
On the other hand, a match between Kazuchika Okada and Will Ospreay was supposed to take place at Wrestle Grand Slam. However, the match never took place as Ospreay got injured and the event was postponed.
Wrestle Kingdom 16 will be a three nights event that will take place on January 4, January 5, and January 8. The first two nights will be held at the Toyo Done whereas the last one will take place at the Yokohama Arena.
