Viking Raiders Gets RAW Tag Team Title Shots Next Week on RAW
The Viking Raiders will get their first shot at RAW Tag Team Championship Titles against Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler on Monday Night RAW episode of next week on 14 October 2019.
In recent weeks, the Viking Raiders have picked up wins against former Tag Team Champions Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson and were also part of the 6-men tag team match at Hell in a Cell. This week at RAW, they were booked against RAW Tag Team Champions Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler in a non-title match. The Raiders were able to get the win after an intense back and forth match.
Later in the show, Erick and Ivar went on to cut a backstage promo where they announced that they will raid the tag team titles from Ziggler and Roode next week on RAW. WWE also made the match official via the below tweet.
Formerly known as the War Raiders in NXT, Erick and Ivar won the NXT Tag Team Championships at NXT Takeover: Pheonix 2019 show in January. A rapid rise in their popularity among NXT fans saw them called out to WWE main roster after WrestleMania. Upon their move to RAW, they were initially called the Viking Experience, a name that led to fans’ criticism towards WWE.
The name was changed to the Viking Raiders next week. They were booked strong right from the start before going missing for some time. Later, they relinquished the NXT titles when their move to the main roster became permanent. The Raiders return to WWE TV after Extreme Rules and went on to squash many enhancement teams and slowly build towards the top card of tag team division.
