Cain Velasquez is all set to make his pro-wrestling return later this year with AAA. Before making his return, Velasques described why he is returning and why he was released by WWE during his run.
The former UFC Champion recently appeared on The MMA Hour and sat for an interview with Ariel Helwani where he explained why he was released by WWE last year in April.
According to him, WWE didn’t use him and they never called him to go in. He was even told that they would use him in a program with the Lucha Bros. However, it was also shelved because of Covid. WWE officials told him that they just needed the core guys right now.
So, it was like they didn’t use Velasquez at all but at the same time, they were paying him too much. Therefore, they had to release the former UFC superstar.
During the same chat, Velasquez also admitted that he wasn’t developed enough to be their core guy. He also stated that he never regretted going to WWE because it was meant for him.
Cain Velasquez is all set to wear his wrestling boots again as he will return to pro-wrestling in December and wrestle for AAA wrestling promotion.
