Bayley has managed to retain the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship against Nikki Cross on Friday Night SmackDown episode of 11 November 2019.

Nikki Cross was traded to SmackDown as the special draft pick along with Alexa Bliss during WWE Draft 2019. She won the six-pack challenge match to become the number #1 contender on SmackDown episode of 18 October 2019. Earlier, Nikki Cross was to team up with Carmella and Dana Brooke against Bayley, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville for SmackDown this week.

However, WWE had to rescript the entire SmackDown episode since most of their roster was still on their way to the United States from Saudi Arabia after Crown Jewel 2019. WWE nixed the tag team match and announced the title bout just hours before SmackDown started last night.

Bayley was accompanied by Sasha Banks in her corner and that come to her advantage quite a few times. After Nikki Cross made a comeback late in the match, Sasha pushed her off the top turnbuckle. Bayley was quick to pounce on Nikki. She slammed Nikki face-first into the mat and got the pin.

Post-match, NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler attacked all three women which started the NXT invasion of SmackDown Live. NXT was earlier included in the Interbrand rivalry for the Survivor Series 2019.
