Marvin Vettori Agrees to Fight Overweight Paulo Costa at UFC Vegas 41

Paulo Costa confirmed that he failed to make the 186 pound limit for his fight against Marvin Vettori that is scheduled to take place this Saturday at UFC Vegas 41.

However, No. 2 ranked middleweight, Costo will still return to action against No. 5 ranked Vettori as now this bout will move forward as a catchweight. 

During the media day of UFC Vegas 41, Paulo Costa revealed that his current weight was 211 pounds. He also stated that he wouldn’t be able to make 185 pounds by the night of the fight. So, he would like to do a catchweight by facing Vettori at 195 pounds or maybe 205 pounds. 

On Wednesday, Marvin Vettori and Paulo Costa appeared together for an interview via Zoom chat with ESPN.  During the interview, both the fighters verbally agreed to a catchweight bout at UFC Vegas 41. 

Costa challenged Vettori to be a man and told him to take this fight without any purse deduction. Vettori accepted this challenge by saying he would show up at UFC Apex on Saturday and do his job. 

A UFC official also confirmed that Marvin Vettori vs Paulo Costa will take place on its scheduled date as a catchweight bout. However, the specifics of this fight are yet to be revealed.
