UFC Vegas 32: TJ Dillashaw Wins Split Decision Classic, Performance Bonus Announced

TJ Dillashaw won the hard-fought 5 round main event against Cory Sandhagen at UFC Vegas 32.

Dillashaw returned to the octagon after 2 years after dropping the Bantamweight he served the USADA ban. The return was not easy and the former Bantamweight Champion has to fight a gruesome cut on the eye and an injured knee and survived to get the win by 48-47.

After an explosive start from Sandhagen, Dillashaw made a comeback with body locks. Leg locks attempt from Sandhagen also allowed Dillashaw to land some blows to end the round. The second round saw Sandhagen continuing to take good shots at the opponent and cut him open at the eyes.

The third round saw Dillashaw making comeback with some good kicks and his experience helped him to find some openings to take away his shots. The last round also saw some fierce striking from both men and the judges had a difficult decision to make.

While Dillashaw would be a top contender for the Bantamweight title after this win, Sandhagen would feel hard done by. Especially since 17 of 23 media outlets scored the fight 48-47 for Sandhagen, as per a report from MMA Decisions.

UFC Vegas 32 Bonuses

Kyler Phillips vs Raulian Paiva match got the “Fight of the Night” bonus at UFC Vegas 32. The three-round fight saw Paiva win with 29-28, 29-28, 28-28. Both fighters will take home $50,000 each.

Darren Elkins won his third performance bonus with the Performance of the Night award. He defeated Darrick Minner with TKO in the second round. Elkins will also get $50,000.

Adrian Yanez also defeated Randy Costa in the main card opener with TKO in the second round. Yanez will also get a $50,000 bonus for the performance of the night.
