It’s been officially announced that Aleksei Oleinik would now face Jared Vanderaa in a heavyweight bout at UFC 273 on April 9.
Oleinik was scheduled to face Ilir Latifi at UFC Columbus. However, the bout was moved to UFC 273 due to Latifi’s illness. But, now an unknown reason forced Latifi to withdraw from the scheduled bout.
But the good thing is Oleneik still has a fight at UFC 273 as Latifi has been replaced by Jared Vanderaa. Jared even posted a tweet to confirm this news.
Aleksei Oleinik is on a three-fight losing streak and is coming off a unanimous decision loss against Sergey Spivak. His last win came against Fabricio Werdum at UFC 249 back in March 2020.
On the other hand, Jared Vanderaa is also on a two-fight losing streak. He is coming off a split decision loss against Andrei Arlovski.
As a result, both these fights must be looking forward to breaking their losing streak when they collide inside the octagon on April 9 at UFC 273. The event will take place at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida, United States.
