India vs England: 2nd ODI Preview – India Look To Seal Series Early

Shikhar Dhawan vs England 1st ODI 2021

What: India vs England – 2nd ODI of 3(India lead the series 1-0)
Where: MCA Stadium, Pune
When: 1:30 PM IST/8:00 AM GMT

Indian team would have been satisfied with how they were able to crawl their way back into the game in both innings after it seems that match is going away from them. While batting, it was the debutant Krunal Pandya who, with KL Rahul, took them to a respectable total of 317. Prasidh Krishna and Shardul Thakur rocked England’s batting after their smashing start.

But England were not much bothered about losing as per their captain Eoin Morgan. For them, approach is much more important and they would rather lose than slow down than exercise caution.

But their way back into the series is going to be much harder with their captain out of the series with an injury. There is no apparent issues with the team, but the new captain Jos Butler will have to make them tick.

Playing Conditions

Pune’s pitch has been good for batting under lights traditionally. Batting first requires a bit of effort to handle the initial phase. A bit of dew will also make it easier to bat in the second innings. So, expected another bowling first decision whoever wins the toss.

Probable Playing XI

India

India will have to make a forced change as Shreyas Iyer is out after suffering a shoulder injury. Either of Suryakumar Yadav or Rishabh Pant will replace him. Kuldeep Yadav gave India some headaches as he was once again largely ineffective. Will India recall Yuzvendra Chahal though?
