Krunal Pandya was visibly emotional as he scored a half century on his ODI debut against England in the first ODI.
Krunal Pandya and Prasidh Krishna were handed the ODI debuts by Indian Team in the first ODI of the series. The senior Pandya was already seen in tears as he gestured his cap towards his father in heaven. The father of Krunal and Hardik passed away in January this year.
Krunal Pandya entered in the 41st over as his brother Hardik got out with Indian team struggling in the middle overs. Combining with KL Rahul, Krunal brought the innings back on track. While 58 runs off 31 balls, he scored the fastest 50 by a debutant in ODIs with 7 fours and 2 sixes.
KL Rahul also scored a half century to set the target of 318 for England.
In the post innings interview, Krunal Pandya was once again in tears. So much so that the presenter Mural Karthik did not continue with the interview. You can check the video below.
