AEW Announces World Title #1 Contender Match
AEW has announced a number #1 contender match between Jimmy Havoc and Darby Allin for this week’s Dynamite episode.
After its debut episode at Capital One Arena in Washington DC, AEW Dynamite will move to Agganis Arena in Boston for the second episode. The announced #1 contender match is for AEW World Championship and the winner will be challenging Chris Jerico at the third episode of AEW Dynamite from Philadelphia.
AEW Women’s title will also be on the line at Philadelphia, but the challenger is not clear yet. Below is the current line-up for this week’s AEW Dynamite episode:
- Jon Moxley vs Shawn Spears
- Private Party vs The Young Bucks in an AEW World Tag Team Titles tournament match
- AEW World Champion Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara vs Adam Page and Dustin Rhodes
- Darby Allin vs Jimmy Havoc – winner will challenge Chris Jericho for AEW World Championship
Interestingly, these men have only won one match apiece in AEW. And the #1 contender match booking will violate the rule from AEW where the men with most recent wins will get the title show.
