WWE Announces WWE Backstage Studio Show on FS1

WWE has officially announced the name of the studio show on FS1 as ‘WWE Backstage’ which will air on Tuesday nights at 11 PM EST/8 PM PST from 5 November onwards.

The show was first announced by Triple H back in April during WrestleMania weekend promotions. As per his statement at the time, WWE Backstage will feature discussions on the various WWE happenings, plus appearances by familiar faces from the past and present.

As previously speculated, Fox announced that Renee Young will be the host of the show. She will be continuing this role apart from her regular commentary work with WWE. Booker T will be assuming the role of the analyst. This will be the first major role for Booker T with WWE after a long time. He has been appearing on WWE PPV Kickoff panels and had made sporadic appearances on commentary table also.

It is also believed that Cathy Kelly will also be a significant part of the studio show apart from resuming her role at NXT. Rey Mysterio and Paige are among the names that have tried out for the show.

The weekly show will be pre-taped once a week in Los Angeles. It is also assumed that the show will be shot under the auspices of FOX, and not WWE. The idea for WWE Legends and other personalities to appear on the show is under consideration.

According to FOX Sports, there will be a special preview show on 15 October where Young and Booker T will be revealing the WWE Backstage set. This special preview show will air following the conclusion of Game 3 of the MLB’s ALCS on FS1.

WWE was using the WWE: Backstage as the working name for the show for some time now. But the company recently trademarked ‘WWE: the Bump’ name which lead to the speculation for it to be the actual name of the Studio show.
