WWE SmackDown episode of April 1, 2022, will be the WrestleMania edition of the show. The show will wrap up the build-up for WrestleMania 38.
Andre the Giant Battle Royal is announced to take place at this show, which will involve stars from both RAW and SmackDown. Ricochet is announced to defend the Intercontinental Championship in a triple threat match against Humberto and Angel. Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey are all expected to appear on the show. A special edition of Happy Corbin is announced where Drew McIntyre’s sword will be the guest.

Andre The Giant Battle Royal
Andre the Giant Battle Royal is kicking off the show. Most of the participants are in the ring. We get a package for Andre. Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode, and Finn Balor get special entrances. The bell rings and a scramble starts. Tozawa and Reggie are dumped off the ropes. Tozawa is sent to the floor directly. Reggie is kicked off the apron by Damian Priest and so does R-Truth. Viking Raiders eliminates Jinder Mahal. Shelton Benjamin dumps T-Bar. Madcapp Moss hits a big running tackle on Gulak and then clotheslines him to the floor.
Corbin comes to the ringside to cheer up Moss. Moss goes to eliminate Balor but Balor instead sends him to the apron. Ciampa almost eliminates Moss. This starts a brawl between the two. Apollo Crews eliminate Cedric Alexander. Shelton tries to get revenge but Commander Azeez eliminates him. Ciampa eliminates Mansoor with a big kick on the apron. Viking Raiders eliminate Crews. Commander Azeez eliminates Eric and Shanky eliminates Ivar. Shanky and Azeez brawl for a while before all other competitors work to eliminate both of them.
Balor ends up eliminating Damian Priest. Ciampa is dumped off by Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode. Balor fights off Ziggler and Roode for a while, but they end up near the ropes. Moss eliminates Ziggler and Roode. Balor hits a slingblade on Moss. Moss uses a low bridge to eliminate Balor and win the match.
Winner – Madcapp Moss
After the match, Moss celebrates and screams that he did it by himself. He briefly talks about getting inspired by Andre. He then makes a poor joke about Texans.
Ricochet(c) vs Humberto vs Angel – Triple Threat match, WWE Intercontinental Championship
Los Lotharious come out and do their kiss cam. The match starts and both Angel and Humberto work in tandem against Ricochet. They continue to be in control for a while. Ricochet starts to rally with quick moves. One of those moves was a double hurricanrana. Humberto cuts off his springboard move to hit him with an armdrag. We cut to a break as Los Lotharios pose.
Ricochet tries to fight back with punches and chops as we return. Humberto and Angel hit corner splashes in quick succession before a clothesline drops Ricochet. Ricochet hits an enziguiri on Angel. Humberto hits a springboard kick and gets a two-count. Angel is upset that Humberto was trying to get the win. Ricochet gets Angel in rana pin but Humberto breaks. Angel goes for the underhook DDT but Humberto rolls him over for a two-count. An argument between Los Lotharios.
Ricochet hits quick moves on both competitors to take advantage. Ricochet with springboard crossbody and standing moonsault on Angel but Humberto breaks the pin. Humberto is dumped to the floor. Ricochet geos to the top but Angel grabs his leg to stop the move. Ricochet drops him to the floor. Humberto comes to the top now. Ricochet drops him on top on Angel. Ricochet hits a 630-splash on Angel and recoil on Humberto and pins Humberto for the win.
Winner – Ricochet
We get a recap of rivalry between Kevin Owens and Stone Cold Steve Austin so far.
Sasha Banks & Noami vs Queen Zelina & Carmella
Carmella starts with a takedown and some ground and pound on Sasha. Sasha is sent to the floor. Sasha decks both opponents as she returns to the apron. Carmella brings her down. Zelina comes in to start some quick tags. Carmella uses the ropes for a submission move until 5 counts from the referee. Zelina hits double knees in the corner.
Sasha counters with a knee against Carmella. Sasha goes to tag out but Zelina knocks off Naomi. Sasha counters Zelina and tags in Naomi. Naomi drops Zelina and Carmella breaks the pin. Naomi hits double dropkick on them. Sasha tags in for some quick double team. Carmella is dumped to the floor. Naomi hits a split-legged moonsault on Zelina for the pin and the win.
Winner – Sasha Banks & Naomi
Kayla Braxton goes to Ronda Rousey, who was sparring with Shanya Baslzer. Ronda says she has been angry at Charlotte Flair, but she won’t let it get the best of her and will chill with her baby until tomorrow. Ronda warns that Flair can tap out tomorrow or could have her arm ripped.
Flair says the video package was great and could see it all day. She adds that Ronda is very very angry since she could not take her down despite trying any submission. Flair talks about everyone talking about her, wanting photos and autographs, beating Ronda Rousey are all cool. She claims that she will take Ronda to school to show her what’s cool.
Madcapp Moss is backstage and is shining his Andre the Giant Battle Royal trophy. Drew McIntyre’s sword slid into the frame. Moss gets afraid, but turns around to see Happy Corbin holding it.
We get a video package for Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar storyline.
Rick Boogs makes his entrance with Shinsuke Nakamura. Pat McAfee is standing on top of the announce table and is dancing there. Austin Theory comes from behind to trip him on the table. McAfee chases him as he runs away to the backstage. McAfee follows him but Theory goes inside Vince McMahon’s office. McAfee slams on the door. Vince McMahon comes out and screams at McAfee, asking him who does he think he is. McMahon ask McAfee if he wants to get fired and get his WrestleMania match cancelled. Vince orders McAfee to get back to the commentary.
Rick Boogs vs Jimmy Uso
Boogs starts with a big shot. He throws Jey to the corner. Jimmy hits big shots but Boogs no-sells them. Boogs catches Jimmy in the crossbody and toys with him before dropping him. Jimmy sends him to the corner and start unloading. Jimmy headbutts him to the mat. Boogs gets Jimmy up from his knees and does military press before dropping him.
Austin Theory comes out. He picks up a cold drink from the crowd and throws it on McAfee. Michael Cole calms down McAfee as Theory runs away. Finn Balor cuts off Theory on the ramp and brings him back to the ring. The referee calls for disqualification as Nakamura and Jey also get into the ring.

Rick Boogs, Shinsuke Nakamura & Finn Balor vs Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso & Austin Theory
The match has already started as we return from the break. Nakamura is beating up Jey in the corner. He sets Jey up on the turnbuckle and hits a driving knee. Jey hits an enziguiri and tags in Theory. Theory with stomp in the corner and then hits a suplex. Nakamura cuts him off with a kick. Boogs tags in and drops Theory. He goes to start Boogs Cruise and swivels Theory around a few times.
Balor comes in and hits chops on the ropes. He stomps on Theory in the corner before a snapmare and a dropkick for a two-count. Balor hits a kick before The Usos take a cheap shot at Balor. Jimmy tags in and slams Balor’s face on the announce table. Back to the ring, another cheap shot from Jey as the referee gets distracted. Jimmy stops Balor’s attempt to tag out and slams him to the corner. Balor is sent to the floor as we cut to a break.
Balor kicks out of a pin attempt as we return. Balor reverses a whip against Jimmy but Jey tags in quickly to stop the tag. He decks Boogs off the apron. Balor htis him with a back body drop. Nakamuta gets hot tag against Theory. Nakamura hits a leg lariat. He deals with Jimmy before hitting a dropkick. An apron kick and a sliding German suplex follows. The Usos break the pin with double superkick. Boogs is sent into the steel steps.
Balor gets the tag against Theory. Balor sends Thoery to the floor and hits a suicide dive. A slingblade and a shotgun dropkick follow. The Usos run another interference and Theory drops Balor with ATL for the pin and the win.

Happy Talks with Drew McIntyre’s Sword
The ring is set for Happy Talk. Moss is hyped for winning Andre the Giant Battle Royal. He gets cut off by Corbin who starts to talk about himself and how he won the Battle Royal in his WrestleMania debut. Corbin says he will be called Euphoria Corbin after WrestleMania. He talks about Drew McIntyre’s sword being named after his late mother and calls it depressing.
Corbin renames the sword as Euphoria. He jokes that the common thing between Drew’s sword and his mother is that he has lost both of them. The crowd boos. Drew McIntyre’s music hits and he comes out. McInyre knocks off Moss with a forearm as he tries to cut him off.
McIntyre takes the steel chair and gets into the ring. Corbin tries to swing the sword at McIntyre but McIntyre throws the chair at him. McIntyre picks up the sword and swings at Corbin. Corbin ducks and gets out of the ring. McIntyre breaks the table with the sword. He throws everything from the talk shot set up out of the ring. Drew poses in the ring as his music hits. The commentators walk us through the match card for WrestleMania while Drew’s music is on. Some pyro ends the show with Drew in the ring.

Andre The Giant Battle Royal: The eighth annual Andre the Giant Battle Royal will take place at WrestleMania Smackdown edition. The participants from both RAW and SmackDown will take part in the annual Battle Royal. Almost everyone who is currently not booked for WrestleMania and SmackDown are part of the Battle Royal, including United States Champion Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Robert Roode, and many more.
Intercontinental Triple Threat: Last week, Ricochet was beaten by Los Lotharios’ Humberto and Angel in different singles matches. Now, both men are going to challenge for the title at WrestleMania SmackDown.
Happy Talks with McIntyre’s Sword: Happy Corbin stole Drew McIntyre’s sword, Angela last week. This week the build-up for the match between McIntyre and Corbin will continue as Corbin holds his Happy Talks segment with the sword. What will transpire in this segment?
