Natalya defeated Lacey Evans with submission after the Sharpshooter at WWE Crown Jewel 2019 the first-ever women’s match in Saudi Arabia.

This was the fourth WWE PPV event in Saudi Arabia in the last two years. But not once did they were allowed to put on a women’s match in the country by the Saudi Government. Natalya and Alexa Bliss even traveled to Jeddah for Super Showdown 2019 but the match was nixed when WWE did not get permission for the match.

However, things changed this time around and the match between Natalya and Lacey Evans was announced just one day before the Crown Jewel event. Both Natalya and Evans were not in their usual wrestling attire and wore oversized shirts covering the whole of their bodies. Also, both women were visibly emotional due to the historically significant moment for women’s wrestling in the country.

After a back-and-forth start, Evans took control of the match. But it was Natalya who took down Evans as she went on the top turnbuckle and put her in the Sharpshooter, forcing Evans to submit. After the match, Natalya and Evans embraced each other as well as some of the women in the crowd.
