Hideo Itami Qualify for Fatal Four-way Match at WWE Royal Rumble 2019
Hideo Itami defeated Cedric Alexander to qualify for the Cruiserweight Championship fatal four-way match at the Royal Rumble. He will now face the Cruiserweight champion Buddy Murphy, Kalisto and Akira Tozawa for the title in the kick-off show at Royal Rumble on 27th January 2019,
Last month, Buddy Murphy, after winning the title at TLC from Cedric Alexander, asked WWE 205 Live General Manager Maverick for his next challenge upon which Maverick decided to kick-off Royal Rumble 2019 with a bang, announcing a Fatal 4-Way Match for the Cruiserweight title.
Three Qualifying Matches would take place to determine who would challenge Murphy for the said match. In the first match, former Cruiserweight Champion Kalisto beat Lio Rush and become the first constant for Fatal 4-Way. In the second qualifier, another former Cruiserweight Champion Akira Tozawa beat Drew Gulak.
The third and final qualifier took place in last night’s episode of 205 Live between another former Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander and Hideo Itami where Hideo Itami defeated Alexander.
