The Hardy Boyz have relinquished their SmackDown Tag Team Titles due to an injury to Jeff Hardy. The injury will lead to surgery and a good amount of lay-off time for Hardy.
As reported earlier, Jeff Hardy got injured during the WWE live event on 20 April. He did not work matches since then and was seen limping during the later events. WWE did not confirm the injury at the time and now we know why it was so. The Hardy Boyz came out last night on SmackDown to inform that they will need to relinquish the titles.
Also, they credited the injury to the attack from Lars Sullivan. Sullivan again came out and attack the Hardy Boyz as he did a few weeks back. He disposed of Matt Hardy when R Truth came to attack him. However, Sullivan no-sold the chair shot and put Truth to the mat also.
Neither Jeff nor WWE have specified more details of the injury. Also, WWE has not announced any plan for crowning new SmackDown tag team champions as of yet.
