Former NXT Champion Adam Cole Received A Contract Offer From AEW
According to the latest reports, All Elite Wrestling made contact with Adam Cole and offered him a contract.
Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that AEW is interested in signing the former NXT champion. The people close to this situation have learned that Adam Cole is negotiating a new deal with WWE NXT but at the same time, AEW presented their offer as well.
They also revealed that Adam Cole hadn’t agreed to a deal with either of them by mid-week. Dave Meltzer explained that Tony Khan offered a contract that he neither rejected nor accepted.
Adam Cole’s contract already expired earlier in July. However, he signed an extension with NXT which will last till the SummerSlam weekend. He signed this extension so that his feud with Kyle O’Reilly can get a proper closure.
Fightful Select also reported Adam Cole is on the good books of the top NXT officials, and there is a lot of mutual respect. Also, WWE certainly doesn’t want one of their top stars to go to their rival promotion.
Cole will become a free agent after his contract expires, and he will be able to compete in any promotion as there won’t be any non-compete clause. Currently, Adam Cole is expected to face Kyle O’Reilly for the third time at NXT takeOver 36.
