UFC Vegas 35: Two Fights Cancelled from Card

Alessio Di Chirico vs Aliaskhab Khizriev

Two big fights have been canceled from UFC Vegas 35 that are scheduled to take place on August 28 at UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

MMA Fighting reported that Aliaskhab Khizriev will not make his UFC debut at UFC Vegas 35. On the other hand, Sara McMann also announced her withdrawal from the event due to injury.

Aliaskhab Khizriev is yet to take a loss and his current record is 13-0. The Black Wolf earned his UFC contract after defeating Henrique Shiguemoto in the very first round via submission on Dana White’s contender series last year in September.

Khizriev was about to make his UFC debut against Alessio Di Chirico but an undisclosed injury forced him out of the match. It is the third time that Aliaskhab Khizriev’s debut match has been postponed. Earlier, his fights with Wellington Turman and Kyle Daukaus were also canceled because of injury and Covid-19 protocols respectively.

On Tuesday, Sara McMann also announced that she wouldn’t be able to compete in her match against Ketlen Vieira. Sara didn’t reveal what kind of injury she has but in her Instagram post, she mentioned that it is a reinjury.

With Aliaskhab Khizriev and Sara McMann out of their fight, UFC Vegas 35 might have to cancel their respective fights. The organization is yet to reveal whether it will rebook the bouts or will find new opponents for Alessio Di Chirico and Ketlen Vieira.
