The lightweight(135 lbs) bout is coming at an important time and the result of the main event could effect future plans for the champions George Kambosos and David Haney. Vasiliy Lomachenko lost the WBA(super), WBO, and The Ring titles to Teofimo Lopez last year. He has since got a TKO win over Masayoshi Nakatani and a win here would surely set him up for a title shot against Kambosos.
Commey also lost to IBF title to Lopez and has since managed to knockout Jackson Marinez. A win over Lomachenko could raise his stocks once again and make him a title contender. So, who will come out on top in this bout of two former division champions?

Lomachenko vs Commey Live Updates
Round 1: Commey landed good body shots in the opening round. Ghanian is pushing the pace here. Lomachenko landed a left to Commey’s body with one minute to go in the first round. Commey landed a right hand punch to his head seconds later. Commey wins this round.
Round 2: Lomachenko lands a big left hand to throw Commey back. Loma tells him to walk back to the corner. Commey comes back with a right. They trade strikes next. Commey fires with his right. Lomachenko lands sharp left hands and lots of shots on the body.
Round 3: Commey catches Lomachenko with a short right hand. The referee warns Commey for holding in the middle of the round. Lomachenko lands shots on the head and more body shots in the final minute. They exchange hard shots before Loma sends Commey’s head back with a left hand.
Round 4: Lomachenko is in control now and his punches are stinging Commey. Ghanian is trying to fire his jabs in between but Lomachenko is able to dodge most of it. Loma lands hard overhand lefts which makes Commey take a step backward. Commey lands a right to Lomachenko’s body near the end.
Round 5: Lomachenko continues to stay out of Commey’s range and keeps landing his shots. Commey lands a big right on Lomachenko as we come to final minute of the round. Loma lands his left to throw him backward.
Round 6: Lomachenko continues to be in control and lands a left before a combination. They exchange shots in a neutral corner. Both land hard punches in the middle of the round. Commey with a big right hand.
Round 7: Lomachenko drops Commey with big left hands back to back. Commey got to his feet but was wobbling. Loma told Commey’s corner to pull him out of the fight. The referee told Loma to focus on the fight. Loma unleashes with more shots at Commey’s head but Commey is hanging on.
Round 8: Loma eases up a bit in this round after a dominant seventh round. Commey is hanging on despite taking some shots from Loma.
Round 9: Commey is looking for that one big shot to change the fight from here. He lands with a flurry of strikes early in the round. Lomachenko lands a big left. Commey comes back with his right. Loma keeps cruising after that.
Round 10: Lomachenko remains the aggressor. Commey is landing his shots in between. He lands a good left to counter. Lomachenko is still the better man between them and is able to counter Commey. He lands a right to the body and a left punch to the head in the final minute.
Round 11: Lomachenko connects more punches as he looks to get the KO. Commey comes back at him a few times and Loma has to step back. Still, the round belongs to Loma.
Round 12: Both men trade hard shots. With Loma the clear winner until now, Commey needed a KO for the win here, but Loma landed a straight left in the final minute to crush his hopes.
Decision: Vasiliy Lomachenko defeated Richard Commey via unanimous decision(119-108, 117-110, 119-108).
