AEW Dynamite episode of February 16 will feature build-up towards AEW Revolution 2022 PPV. The upcoming episode of the Dynamite will air from the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, TN, US. 

Chris Jericho and Jake Hager of the Inner Circle will team up to face the team of Santana & Ortiz next week. Mercedes Martinez and Thunder Rosa face off in a no disqualification grudge match. Sammy Guevara will defend TNT title against Darby Allin. Wardlow will take on Max Caster in a qualifier for the Face of the Revolution match. Bryan Danielson will take on Lee Moriarty.

CM Punk Choose Match Against MJF

CM Punk is out in the ring and he cuts a promo on MJF. Punk is sitting crosslegged in the middle of the ring and has something in front of him. He says he is straight edge, drug-free, alcohol-free, and he is better than us. He spoke these words 20 years ago which formed the foundation of his career which inspired many wrestlers including some in this locker room.

And then, there is MJF, who likes to do everything like him but can never think like him. Punk says he is proud of MJF for beating him in Chicago twice, since he has been taught a lesson. But now, it is time for MJF to learn a lesson. He announces that the match between them will be at Revolution PPV. He toys about the idea for the stipulation before announcing that it will be a dog collar match.

Punk says it will take years off MJF’s career and that’s the lesson he needs to learn, and he wants MJF out here because he’s got one more thing to say in front of his face. MJF comes out to the stage. Punk shows him a picture of himself with a young MJF. Punk says it will probably the greatest day of his life, but for CM Punk, it was just a Friday. Revolution is gonna be the worst day of his life, and for Punk it’s just gonna be a Sunday.

MJF goes to speak but it looks like he is too angry and lost for words. He walks away.

Christian, Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy is backstage with Tony Schiavone. They talk about the battles royal that will set two sets of contenders for their tag titles. Christian says that things will change in tag team division after Revolution, but one thing will remain same and it will be that JB and Luchasaurus will remain the champions.

Bryan Danielson vs Lee Moriarty

Bryan refuses the handshake. Moriarty gets on the waistlock. Bryan brings him down by his arm. Moriarty gets to the ropes to break free. Bryan hits a paintbrush slap across Moriarty’s face. Moriarty brings down Byran goes to work on the leg. Bryan turns it around and goes for inverted cloverleaf. Moriarty counters the dragon sleeper and Bryan reaches the ropes. Moriarty kicks at Bryan’s arm before putting jacket submission. Bryan counters it and Moriarty takes him to the corner for uppercuts.

Bryan runs the ropes but runs into another uppercut. Bryan traps his arms on the top rope and hits Yes! kicks. He hits a big knee to his face as we cut to a break.

We return to see Bryan keeping Moriarty on the mat and gets a few two-count. He transitions into the Labell lock but Moriarty gets his foot on the rope. Moriarty comes back with a Saito suplex. Bryan bounces on his head. Bryan hits uppercuts before Moriarty gets a two-count with a backslide. Bryan hits a big uppercut and Moriarty gets hyped. Moriarty fires back some shots. He catches Bryan’s kick and then hits a belly-to-belly suplex.

Lee comes with more forearms and puts on Border City Stretch. Bryan reverses it and hits Regalplex and then hits the Busaiku knee. He grabs Lee’s wrists and he hits his signature stomps. He puts on the figure four headscissors and puts Moriarty to sleep. The referee stops the match.

Winner – Bryan Danielson

Bryan takes the mic and says he wants answers from Moxley. Moxley comes out to the ring. He recalls having his first match against Bryan a decade or so ago. He talks about how he was beaten that day and still has not defeated Bryan. Mox says when he Bryan came to AEW, he was happy since he got to face him once again. But, it turns out Bryan does not want to fight him but want to join forces.

Mox has got to thinking how awesome it could be- the pure wrestling violence and what it could create, giving something back to the wrestling business. No matter how hard he tried, he could not think of one good reason to say no. But then he thought that only good reason for Bryan to do this is that he wants to stand side by side and not in front of him. Because Bryan knows that Mox will do to him the same thing he has done to everyone they have put in front of him. He asks Bryan what it will be- side by side or face to face. Moxley says he has not stood side by side to anyone until he has bleed with them in the ring first.

Wardlow vs Max Caster – Face of the Revolution Ladder Match Qualifier

Caster enters while rapping as usual. He takes some shots at Wardlow by calling him MJF’s bitch. The match starts and Caster goes for his leg but moves out quickly. He hits a sledehammer on Wardlow’s back before Bowens catches Wardlow’s leg for Caster to allow more shots. Wardlow hits a German suplex to take us to the break.

We return to see Caster hitting Wardlow with a chain behind the referee’s back. Caster covers for the pin but Wardlow kicks out. Caster looks for another move but Wardlow pushes him to the ropes and into Bowens on the apron. Wardlow hits a powerbomb on Caster. He follows with powerbomb symphony and gets the pin easily.

Winner – Wardlow

After the match, Bowens attacks Wardlow. Wardlow easily takes care of him and hits a powerbomb. Shawn Spears hits the Acclaimed with steel chairs to end that segment.

We cut backstage for an interview with Mercedes Martinez. Britt Baker and her party is also there. Martinez says it will be no disqualification, no rules. Baker chimes in by saying that no loss also. Baker adds that everyone will then know Baker is the most powerful woman here. John Kreese rolls up. Mercedes walks away. Britt asks Kreese what to do if Mercedes loses. Kreese tells her to finish her, no mercy.

The Two Adams

Tony Schiavone is in the ring and he brings out AEW World Champion Adam Page. Schiavone asks him how he is doing after last week’s Texas Deathmatch. Before Page could answer, Adam Cole comes out to interrupt. He says Page has been in some wars with Bryan Danielson, Kenny Omega and Lance Archer. He gets into the ring and tells Schiavone to get the hell out of the ring.

Cole says he has earned the right to call himself the AEW World Champion. But, the title reign has to come to an end. Page replies by bringing up how his friends the Elites built up a wrestling empire without him. Cole asks what kind of friendship is he talking about as the Young Bucks have not even taken his name in months. Page says Cole’s record in friendship is also not great.

Cole takes a shot at him saying that he is called the other Adam when they are both in the same promotion. Page puts the AEW title on the side and gets ready to attack Cole. But Cole tells him that the day they face-off here, it will be like men. Cole offers a handshake and Page takes it. Cole leaves the ring. Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish attack Page from behind.

Cole also returns to the ring to beat up Page. Some security runs out to separate them. Dark Order also come out and ReDragon runs away. For some reason, 10 starts taking out all the security guards. Others from Dark Order calm him down.

Chris Jericho & Jake Hager vs Santana & Ortiz

The two teams make their entrance. Eddie Kingston also come out and will be in the corner for Santana and Ortiz. Santana whips Jericho to the corner and hits a splash. Santana keeps up with the attack with more quick moves. Ortiz tags in for some double team and Ortiz hits an assisted DDT. A pop-up drop from Jericho and he tags in Hager.

Ortiz drops him with a forearm. Ortiz with punches and kicks at the knee. Ortiz with a flurry of strikes. Hager hits an overhead throws and then hits Hager bomb to take us to the break.

Jericho hits a suplex on Ortiz as we return. Ortiz hits a clothesline and tags in Santana. Hager comes from the other side. Santana comes in hot and hits quick moves on Hager. Santana works on Hager’s knee. Jericho tags in and hits Santana with a codebreaker. Santana fights off double team and sends Hager to the floor with a back body drop. Jericho hits him with a bulldog. Ortiz stops the codebreaker and Santana drops him.

Ortiz wipes out Hager on the floor. Santana and Ortiz hits the street sweeper to get a near fall on Jericho. Jericho sends Ortiz to the floor. Jericho then puts Santana in the Liontamer. Santana is struggling but he gets to the rope after Eddie Kingston hypes him. Jericho hits Eddie with a dropkick. He goes for Judas Effect on Santana but he ducks. Ortiz takes a cheap shot on Jericho from the apron and Santana hits him with a discus lariat to get the pin.

Winner – Chris Jericho & Jake Hager

After the match, Jericho attacks Eddie Kingston. They brawl shortly before the crew separates them.

Adam Cole is the ReDragon and The Young Bucks. Kyle O’Reilly asks Bucks where were they when they were beating up Adam Page. Bucks says beating up Page at this point is not required. Cole brings up the two battle royals that will take place over the next two weeks and thinks both teams should win one to get the title shot. They agree and go out in different directions. Cole is confused which way to go and shouts at Brandon Cuttler when he mocks him.

Mercedes Martinez vs Thunder Rosa – No Disqualification Match

Martinez is waiting for Rosa on the floor with a lead pipe. Rosa runs out and hits her with a chair before rolling up into the ring. The bell rings and Martinez hits with forearm strikes. Rosa brings her to the floor and brings out a table. Martinez sends her into the steel steps. Rosa whips her into the barricade. They get into the crowd and Rosa keeps control. She hits a crossbody from a railing to take us to the break.

We return to see Martinez sends Rosa through the table with a suplex. Martinez slams Rosa with chair. Rosa hits back hurricanrana. She puts on a trash can over Martinez’s head and hits a dropkick. Martinez grabs the ropes to break the pin. Rosa goes to the top and Martinez meets her there. Martinez brings Rosa down with a spider German suplex from the top.

Martinez slips from an elbow drop and gets a near fall. She piles up chairs in the middle of the ring and goes for a powerbomb over them. Rosa counters with a crucifix bomb. Rosa hits fire thunder driver on the chairs to get the pin and the win.

Winner – Thunder Rosa

Sammy Guevara(c) vs Darby Allin – AEW TNT Championship Match

They handshake before starting. Headlocks take up the first minute of the match. Hammerlocks reversed. Darby hits a dropkick after they run the ropes. Sammy counters on the top and sends Darby in the air to drop on the turnbuckles. Darby flies to the floor. Sammy brings him back and hangs him on the ropes. Sammy hits a senton on Darby on the ropes. We cut to a break.

Darby reverses a whip from Sammy to send him to the corner. He hits two Coffin splashes, followed by a chop block and coffin splash on the knee. Darby puts Sammy in a Tree of Woe and works on his leg for a while with single leg crab. Sammy hits back with headbutts and hits a Spanish fly from the top. Sammy gets late on cover and Darby kicks out.

Darby locks the figure four leglock. Guevara reverses it. They start trading slaps, still in the hold. Darby finally lets go off the lock. Both men stops moves before Darby hits the Last Supper for a near fall. Darby hits Diamond Dust but Guevara rolls to the floor to avoid the pin attempt. Sammy counters suicide dive with ace crusher. He goes for a senton on the apron, but Darby moves away.

Darby goes to the top but Jose, Andrade’s assistant, is here to interfere. Sting beats him up on the ringside. Andrade decks Darby with a tablet as Sting is busy dealing with Jose. Sammy hits GTH to get the win and retain the title.

Winner – Sammy Guevara

Post-match, Matt Hardy comes out to attack Darby. Sammy tries to make the save but Andrade attacks him. Andrade poses with the TNT title in the ring, but runs away when Sting gets in the ring.

Inner Circle Tag Team Clash: The Inner Circle had quite a rough meeting this week, and now they must be looking forward to getting everything back on track again as Chris Jericho and Jake Hager will team up in order to defeat Santana & Ortiz. 

No Disqualification Match: This week the match between Thunder Rosa and Mercedes Martinez ended in a DQ as the latter hit Rosa with a pipe. As a result, the two will collide next week again but this time in a no disqualification match.

Face of the Revolution Qualifier: Wardlow will take on Max Caster in the second qualifying match for the Face of the Revolution ladder match. Will CM Punk vs MJF feud have any effect on this match?

Bryan Danielson vs Lee Moriarty: Two weeks after Bryan namedropped Moriarty as one of the young talents he wants to take under his wings, they will clash in a singles match. The match comes after Moriarty took offense on Bryan’s comments past week on Rampage that Moriarty needs more violence.

TNT Title Match: Sammy Guevera will have a strong challenge in front of him as he faces former titleholder Darby Allin. Allin has been poached by Andrade-Hardy Family Office for a long time now. Will they try to influence this match? Is Sammy in right frame of mind with the disintegration of Inner Circle?

CM Punk Announces Next Match with MJF: CM Punk earned a rematch against MJF by defeating FTR last week. He will announce this week how, when and where that match will take place.
