WWE SmackDown 26 March 2021: Live Results, Updates, Winners & Highlights
Welcome to ITN’s Live blog for WWE Friday Night SmackDown episode of 26 March 2021(3/26/2021) as we bring you the Live Results, Updates, winners, highlights and videos from the show.
We are in the last phase for the build-up for WrestleMania 37 with just 3 SmackDown episodes to go. This week’s episode will deal with the fallout from Fastlane 2021. No matches are announced till now but you can check the our special preview here.
Daniel Bryan Wants WrestleMania Match
Daniel Bryan comes out and reminds us how Roman Reigns saud that he would rather die than tap out to him. But that is exactly what happened at Fastlane. But he did win the title because Edge hit him with a steel chair. Bryan says he does not want a spot at WrestleMania but a rematch against Roman Reigns for the title. And he is not leaving the ring until he gets it. We go to a break.
After the break, Adam Pearce comes out and says he cannot give Bryan a title shot tonight. Pearce proposes that Bryan should face the winner of Edge vs Roman on night 2 itself. Bryan says it would be unfair to any of them. Bryan then proposes Roman vs Edge going on at night 1 of WrestleMania and then Bryan facing the winner on night 2. Edge’s music hits and he comes out. Edge knocks off the mic from Pearce’s hand at the stage.
Edge says he has been watching Bryan from last month making it all about him. But every match could be last for Edge himself. Edge tells Bryan is feeling very heroic for trying to pick the bones of winner. Edge says he won the title shot by winning Rumble. He calls Bryan a SOB which leads to Bryan taking him down. Edge hits spear on Bryan and lays it with steel chair on Bryan’s back.
After the break, we see Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman and Jey Uso at backstage. Roman tells Heyman to get Adam Pearce and ask Jey to use force if neccessary. Jey asks if he is sure. Roman asks him what anyone is gonna do to them? Fire them?
Seth Rollins vs Shinsuke Nakamura
Nakamura starts with a knee to the gut and takes Rollins to the corner. Nakamura gets dropped on the top rope. Rollins tries to get to the top but Nakamura gets him down. Nakamura hits a big knee. Another to the back of the neck. As we go to the commercial.
Rollins is dominating as we return from the break. Rollins with a slingblade. Nakamura comes back with a big boot after Rollins wastes time. Rollins is beaten down for a while. Nakamura hits his signature rolling German suplex. Nakamura misses a high knee in the corner. Rollins hits a springboard knee and Falcon Arrow to get a two-count.
Rollins counters a reverse Exploder. Nakamura ends up hitting Landslide. Rollins blocks kinshasa before Nakamura puts on the armbar. Rollins transitions into a triangle and hits a powerbomb. Rollins hits the stomp to get the win.
Winner – Seth Rollins
After the match, Rollins attacks Nakamura while he is down. Rollins was looking for a Stomp but Cesaro comes out to attack Rollins. Cesaro hits a big Gutwrench slam before more strikes and a big uppercut. Rollins escapes from the swing though and retreats to the ramp. Rollins talks trash from the ramp for a while as the segment comes to an end.
