UFC 264 Medical Suspensions- Conor McGregor & Sean O’Malley Out Till January 2022

Conor McGregor and Sean O’Malley might be out of action until January 2022 coming out of UFC 264 PPV.

Conor suffered an ankle injury at UFC 264, which was later revealed to be a broken tibia. He underwent surgery for the same injury on Sunday which lasted for around 3 and a half hours.

Nevada Athletic Commission has announced that Conor will require clearance from an orthopedic to compete in another match this year.

Apart from Conor, five other fighters also received a 6-month suspension due to their injuries. Most notable of them all is Sean O’Malley, who defeated Kris Moutinho with a KO with just seconds left in the third round of their fight. O’Malley suffered injuries to both hands.

Other wrestlers who received maximum medical suspensions are- Greg Hardy (left orbital, nose), Yana Kunitskaya (nose), Ryan Hall (left hand), and Omari Akhmedov (nose). The complete list of UFC 264 medical suspensions is as below:

• Conor McGregor- Required clearance from orthopedic doctor for fractured leg or no contest until 7 January 2022. Minimum suspension no contest until 25 August 2021. No contact until 10 August 2021
• Stephen Thompson- Suspended until 10 August 2021. No contact until 1 August 2021.
• Greg Hardy- Required clearance from ophthalmologist for left orbital fracture, and ENT (eye, nose, and throat) doctor for fractured nose or no contest until 7 January 2022. Minimum suspension no contest until 25 August 2021. No contact until 10 August 2021.
• Yana Kunitskaya- Must receive clearance from ENT doctor for fractured nose or no contest until 7 January 2022. minimum suspension no contest until 25 August 2021. No contact until 10 August 2021.
• Sean O’Malley- Requires X-ray on both hands to rule out fracture. Requires X-rays on left tibia and right foot. Require clearance from orthopedic doctor on positive result or no contest until 7 January 2022. Minimum suspension no contest until 10 August 2021, no contact until 1 August 2021.
• Kris Moutinho- Suspended until 9 September 2021. No contact until 25 August 2021.
• Carlos Condit- Suspended until 10 August 2021. No contact until 1 August 2021. Left upper lip cut
• Max Griffin- Suspended until August 2021 10, no contact until 1 August 2021. Left knee and left shin pain.
• Niko Price- Suspended until 10 August 2021. No contact until 1 August 2021. Left elbow swelling
• Michel Pereira- Suspended until 10 August 2021. No contact until 1 August 2021.
• Ryan Hall- Must receive clearance from orthopedic doctor for fractured left hand or no contest until 7 January 2022. Minimum suspension no contest until 25 August 2021. No contact until 10 August 2021.
