Miesha Tate Tested Positive for Covid-19, Match with Ketlen Vieira Postponed

Former UFC women’s Bantamweight champion, Miesha Tate has been tested positive for Covid-19.

Miesha Tate was preparing to make her return to the octagon. She was scheduled to face Ketlen Vieira in the main event of UFC Fight Night 195 that will take place on October 16. She will no longer appear in this bout as her match with Vieira is now postponed. However, UFC has yet to confirm this officially.

Sherdog posted a report, and then MMA Junkie confirmed the news with a person close to the situation. UFC will likely set a new date for Meisha Tate vs Ketlen Vieira.

Miesha Tate won the UFC women’s bantamweight championship back in 2016. She defeated Holly Holm via submission to become the new champion. However, she shortly lost the championship to Amanda Nunes who is still a champion to this day. 

On the other hand, Vieira had alternated wins in her last few matches. She got a victory in her last fight against Yana Kunitskaya at UFC Fight Night 185 earlier this year in February,
