Cena and the Brawl

RAW was started with a backstage brawl between Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley. Several Superstars and officials were trying to keep them apart as they fight. John Cena headed to the ring to a surprisingly positive response from the crowd. He went on to say that every wrestler has to up their game or miss the train to Wrestle Mania and announced that he would be in the Royal Rumble match. He was soon interrupted by Drew McIntyre who wanted to have a go at Cena and walked down to the ring. McIntyre said he has been waiting for years to confront Cena. He called Cena the greatest of all time, but that McIntyre has a reputation for taking out the greats like The Shield, Kurt Angle, and Dolph Ziggler.

They were getting ready for the match when Lio Rush and Bobby Lashley came out and started to walk down to the ring saying something needs to be done to Rollins since he attacked Lashley backstage. Rollins came out and attacked Lashley again. Dean Ambrose came out at this point to attack Rollins. Cena and McIntyre also got involved. McIntyre, Lashley, Rush, and Ambrose got the upper hand over Cena and Rollins until Finn Balor came out and hit McIntyre with a slam before hitting a moonsault on all 6 others at the ringside.

Dean Ambrose, Bobby Lashley, and Drew McIntyre vs Seth Rollins, John Cena, and Finn Balor – 6 Man Tag Team Match

Two teams kept going at each other and Cena was actually isolated for a large part of the match. Cena tried to make a hot tag early on after an AA to Ambrose but McIntyre knocked him down with a headbutt. Cena finally made the hot tag as Balor came in and cleaned the house. He hit Ambrose with a Coup De Grace but immediately got taken out by a Claymore Kick from McIntyre. Both Ambrose and Balor made the tag as Rollins came in and wiped McIntyre out before hitting Lashley and Ambrose with a moonsault from the apron. Rollins came back into the ring and hit McIntyre with a Falcon Arrow. McIntyre then went for an Alabama Slam but Cena came and hit him with a massive AA. Ambrose tagged himself in and went to hit the Dirty Deeds but Rollins reversed with a Curbstomp for the win.

Winner- Seth Rollins, John Cena and Finn Balor by pinfall

Rollins charged to backstage to confront Triple H and demanded a match against Ambrose. Triple H awarded him a shot at the IC Championship in a Falls Count Anywhere match later on RAW.

Hulk Hogan returned to pay tribute to “Mean Gene” Okerlund

After a 10-bell salute to Mean Gene Okerlund, Hulk Hogan came out to pay his tribute with fans chanting his name. Hogan opened up, saying he came out in character because that’s exactly what Mean Gene would have wanted. He said Okerlund loved entertaining the fans more than anything in the world before playing a video of his greatest moments. Hogan gave one last promo as if he was being interviewed by Mean Gene to end the segment.

Chad Gable and Bobby Roode vs. The Revival – Lumberjack Match, RAW Tag Team Championship Match

Dash Wilder and Bobby Roode started the match. Wilder was tossed out and rolled right back into the ring. Dawson came in after the tag but Roode took him down with an arm drag. Gable got the tag and take down both members of The Revival, knocking them out of the ring a couple of times. Roode hit a spinebuster for two. Gable tagged in and hit a beautiful German suplex while Roode hit a blockbuster at the same time. Dawson tagged Wilder and he hit a splash. Both teams scored near falls over the next couple of minutes. Dawson ended up getting pinned while his foot was on the ropes. The ref didn’t see it, so the match ended in controversy. Expect a rematch at Royal Rumble.

Elias vs Baron Corbin

Elias, in the ring, played a tune on his guitar before talking about Baron Corbin. He joked about how far the former GM has fallen and he hasn’t forgotten everything Corbin did in his tenure. Corbin interrupted him and Both men announce they are entering the Royal Rumble.

Elias hit a mule kick on Corbin before clotheslining him out of the ring. Elias hit a dropkick and then a Crossbody slam from the top turnbuckle at the ringside. Corbin regained control. He threw Elias at the apron and then hit him with a running shoulder. Elias countered with a jumping knee when Corbin jumped on him from the middle turnbuckle. Elias then built some momentum and hit a neck breaker for 2 counts. Corbin hit the End of the Day and pinned him down to win the match.

Lesner’s mind games on Strowman

Braun Strowman was back and called out Brock Lesnar immediately. Brock and Paul Heyman appeared on the Titantron and Heyman said that they wouldn’t be coming out and that was probably to Strowman’s benefit. Braun Strowman continued taunting Lesnar until The Beast agreed to come down to the ring. Brock just circled the ring before walking away. Strauman ended the segment by saying- “At Royal Rumble, they will crown me the new Universal Champion”.

Jinder Mahal and Alicia Fox vs. Apollo Crews and Ember Moon

Match started after a promo from Jinder. Apollo and Jinder started with Mahal backed down to the corner and Apollo hitting a few shoulder thrusts. Crews took Mahal down in a few different pinning combinations before sending him out crashing. The women tagged in and Ember Moon took the opportunity to attack Fox, hitting her with a handspring elbow. She followed up immediately with The Eclipse to win the match for her team.

A Moment of Bliss debuts

Alexa Bliss debuted her new talk segment next. Her first guest was RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey. Ronda said she wants to be a champion everyone can be proud of and there is one woman who has pushed everyone to their limit in the locker room, and that person is Sasha Banks. Nia Jax came out pretending to vomit at the thought of Rousey vs. Banks match. This led to Sasha also coming out. Sasha and Nia faced off and this led to Sasha Banks vs Nia Jax with the winner getting a title shot at the Royal Rumble.

Sasha Banks vs Nia Jax – No. 1 Contender Match for RAW Women’s Championship at Royal Rumble

Match started with Tamina and Bayley at ringside. Banks hide under the ring so she can sneak up on Jax. Jax caught Sasha in a cross body and throws her back into the ring. Banks hit a baseball slide dropkick. Jax hit a suplex and a running knee to knock Banks out of the ring. Bayley attacked Tamina at the ringside to keep her from interfering, but Tamina threw her into the barricade. Banks tried to help Bayley. Jax picked her up in a gorilla press and drops her on a production crate near the barricade.

Sasha just beat the 10-count and made it back to the ring but Jax greeted her with a Powerbomb. Jax continued to dominate Banks as the match went on, sending The Boss face-first into the top rope and turnbuckle. With the referee distracted, Tamina tried to interfere but Bayley wiped her out. Sasha sidestepped Nia at the same time as she went crashing into the ring post. Sasha followed it up with a Hurracanrana from the apron followed by the Banks Statement, with Nia Jax tapping out in seconds. Sasha Banks will now face Ronda Rousey at the WWE Royal Rumble.

Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins – Falls Count Anywhere Match for the Intercontinental Championship

Rollins attacked Ambrose at the entrance and then continued to beat Ambrose all around the ring. They take the fight out into the crowd where Rollins slammed Ambrose’s head into an equipment case. Dean tried to run away and Seth followed him backstage and then to the loading docks. Dean slammed Rollins on some crates and hit him with a ladder for another two counts. Back in the arena, Rollins hit some hard chops to the chest. Ambrose used a chair to get another near fall. Ambrose pulled up some of the paddings at ringside but Rollins countered Dirty Deeds to backdrop Dean onto the concrete floor. Back inside the ring, Rollins hit Ambrose with the Curb Stomp and looked set to win but Bobby Lashley showed up and pulled him out of the ring. Lashley attacked Rollins at ringside, hit The Dominator in the middle of the ring before lining up and hitting a brutal Spear. Dean Ambrose then crawled over to cover Rollins and pin him for the win.

Winner- Dean Ambrose by pinfall

Lio Rush grabbed a table from under the ring and Lashley set it up near the turnbuckle. He picked Seth up and slams him through the table to end the show.
