Tyson Fury Reveals WWE Plans That Fell Through Due to COVID
In a recent interview with Behind The Gloves, Tyson Fury went on a rant how COVID-19 has cost him big pay days.
Fury revealed about the WWE plans that fell through due to the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic. As per the Boxing World Heavyweight Champion, he was all set to appear in some big PPV matches last year.
“I was supposed to go to SummerSlam last year, and I was supposed to go to WrestleMania last year,” Tyson Fury said. He also revealed that WWE was indeed planning a PPV in the UK.
“I was also supposed to fight Drew McIntyre in a pay-per-view event in the UK. But none of that happened, thanks to COVID.”
He also added, “So COVID’s cost me SummerSlam, Royal Rumble, pay-per-view with Drew McIntyre, the Wilder rematch, and the Joshua fight, so thank you, COVID. And I was supposed to meet the President of the United States, Donald Trump. I was supposed to meet the Pope of Rome, among other things, so it’s cost me a lot. It’s one of the things.”
Tyson Fury defeated Braun Strowman in his debut match at Crown Jewel in October 2019 via count-out. After this match, Fury went on to defeat Deontay Wilder in a heavyweight title match in February 2020 and became the even bigger star of the sports industry.
Furu was all set to fight Anthony Joshua, and he also got engaged in a verbal fight with Drew McIntyre on social media. However, the fans never got to see these dream matches due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus.
Hopefully, we will get to see all these matches once things goes back to normal.
