Asuka vs Rhea Ripley Confirmed For WrestleMania 37

Asuka vs Rhea Ripley WWE RAW Women's Championship match WrestleMania 37

Rhea Ripley made a blockbuster debut at RAW this week by confronting Asuka. Asuka faced Peyton Royce in a non-title match. Despite some good challenge from Royce, Asuka was able to win her match.

After the match, Rhea Ripley came out and told Asuka that she needs an answer from her about WrestleMania 37. Ripley mentioned that Charlotte Flair challenged her but now she is recovering from COVID-19. With Flair out of picture, Ripley challenged Asuka for the RAW Women’s title match at WrestleMania 37.

Asuka replied with her signature phrase, “You are not ready for Asuka.” Asuka ended up accepting Rhea Ripley’s challenge and the match was soon confirmed for WrestleMania 37.

Asuka won the RAW Women’s Championship at SummerSlam back from Sasha Banks. However, she has not defended the title at a PPV event since Clash of Champions in September 2020. Asuka’s last title defense came at 25 January 2021 episode of RAW against Alexa Bliss.

Rhea Ripley is now officially on RAW roster after weeks of teasing from WWE. She is a former NXT & NXT UK Women’s Champion. Ripley was also part of last year’s WrestleMania where she lost the NXT Women’s title to Charlotte Flair. Ripley’s last appearance came at women’s Royal Rumble match where she was the last woman to be eliminated by Bianca Belair.

This is 5th match to be confirmed for WrestleMania this year. The event goes down on 10th & 11th April 2021. Stay tuned for more updates on WrestleMania 37.
