Welcome to WWE Smackdown Results live blog for the August 19, 2022 episode from Bell Center in Montreal, Canada, which will be the 1200th episode of SmackDown.

Drew McIntyre and Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns will come face-to-face as the build-up towards their match at Clash at the Castle event continues. The Usos have tried and failed to take down Drew McIntyre and left with Claymores. Will Karrion Kross try to come in between them once again?

WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan will likely face Shotzi in a singles match. Women’s Tag Team Championship tournament continues with Nikkita Lyons & Zoey Stark vs Natalya & Sonya Deville match. The Viking Raiders will hold a Viking Funeral for New Day.

  • Sheamus defeated Happy Corbin, Sami Zayn, Ricochet & Madcap Moss in aFatal 5-way for #1 contender for Intercontinental Championship via pinfall.
  • Liv Morgan defeated Shotzi in a singles match via pinfall.

Ronda Chooses Violence!

The commentators hype the 1200th episode of SmackDown. Ronda Rousey walks past them and gets into the ring. Ronda says she paid her mic last week and she will not leave until she is not reinstated. She calls out Adam Pearce to do the right thing. She once again says the show won’t start until she is reinstated. Adam Pearce comes out with some security. Pearce tells Ronda that these kinds of decisions are above his pay grade and tells her to leave peacefully. Ronda replies that she left peacefully last week, she is choosing violence this week.

Pearce sends the security into the ring and Ronda takes them down one by one. She breaks the arm of one of the security guys. Ronda comes down to intimidate Pearce. Pearce brings out a couple of Police Officers to get her arrested. Ronda puts her arms forward for handcuffs and leaves with Police. As she is taken away in Police Car, Roman Reigns’ SUV enters the parking. The crowd cheers as Roman comes out of the car. We cut to a break.


A fatal 5-way is announced for the #1 contender for Intercontinental Championship – Sami Zayn vs Sheamus vs Ricochet vs Madcap Moss vs Happy Corbin.

Natalya & Sonya Deville vs Toxic Attraction(Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne)- WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament Round 1 Match

Natalya, Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai are in the front row. Earlier today, it was announced Toxic Attraction has replaced Nikkita Lyons and Zoey Stark in this match. Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne make their entrance. We get a video package to introduce them.

Dolin starts against Natalya with a side headlock takedown. She slams her to the mat and poses. Natalya takes advantage with a roll-up for a two-count.. Sonya tags in and hits a shoulder tackle. A spear gets Sonya a two-count. Dolin takes Sonya to her corner to tag in Jacy. Jacy nails Sonya with a knee strike from the apron. Sonya misses a tackle in the corner and ends up crashing into the ring post. Natalya tries to get involved but Dolin kicks her and sends her into the steel steps. We cut to a break.

Jacy is in control against Sonya as we return. Sonya hits a big boot on Jayne and then knocks off Dolin from the apron. Jayne her with a big shot from behind. Jayne was looking for sharpshooter but Sonya blocks in and tags in Natalya. Natalya tackles Jayne before hitting a couple of suplexes in a quick succession. Jayne blocks the sharpshooter and tags in Dolin. Dolin drops Natalya with a clothesline. Sonya breaks the pin.

Jayne takes Sonya to the floor and they fight in front of Bayley and company. Jayne sends Sonya into the barricade and then drops her from behind with a clothesline. Natalya sends Dolin to the corner. Jayne takes a blind tag and rolls up Natalya to get the pin.

Sami Zayn & The Tribal Cheif

Sami Zayn is walking backstage and reaches outside Roman Reigns’ locker room. The doorman tells him that Roman Reigns is asking for him. Sami enters the locker room and Roman asks him how it is going. Sami tells him that it is not going well with Jey and he was getting in his face, even spitting at his face. Sami points out how he put him infront of a Claymore from Drew last week. Roman tells him that he should be talking to Jimmy or directly to him.

Roman goes off the camera and his phone ring. Sami tells him that it is Jey on the call and picks up the call after his permission. Jey starts to shout at Sami fron the other side. Sami tells Roman that Usos have an issue at the border and they are not coming to Smackdown tonight. Roman asks Sami what he is doing tonight. Sami tells him about being in fatal 5-way match for IC title #1 contender. Roman says IC title will look good in Bloodline. Roman then asks about Kevin Owens and tells Sami to relay the message that he does not owe him anything.


We see a replay of the Intercontinental Championship match from last week between Gunther and Shinsuke Nakamura.

Maximum Male Models are in the ring. Max Dupri takes the mic and says Ma.Ce & Man.Soor have titalated the juices of our guilty pleasures and tonight will be no different. They are quickly interrupted by the Hit-Row trio. They enter the ring and Dupri is not happy with them. He tells them they are not MMM material. Top Dolla and Ashante Adonis start a brawl and send them to the floor. They start rapping after this, singing about their return to SmackDown.

Sami Zayn vs Sheamus vs Ricochet vs Madcap Moss vs Happy Corbin – Fatal 5-way for #1 contender for Intercontinental Championship

Corbin goes after Ricochet and Sheamus fight Moss. Sheamus takes Moss to the floor. Sami clotheslines Sheamus to the mat. Sami unloads on Sheamus. Corbin comes in and hits a chokeslam on Sami. The other three quickly come in to break the pin attempt. We cut to a break.

Ricochet is fighting Sheamus on the floor. Sheamus slams him into the barricade. He not work on Moss. Corbin deals with Sami for a while before focusing on Ricochet. Corbin whips Ricochet into the corner after taking him into the ring. Sheamus is sent over the barricade by Moss. Corbin stops Ricochet in his tracks with a big punch. Moss gets into the ring but Corbin whips him to the corner. Corbin nails him with a shot. A big punch to Sami on the apron to drop him. Corbin tackles Ricochet mid-air as he springboards.

Sheamus comes in to start a back and forth. Corbin drops him with a back suplex. Ricochet hits a dropkick on Corbin. He hits some quick moves on Moss. He hits springboard crossbody on Corbin and then hits a standing moonsault. Moss breaks the pin attempt. Moss drops Ricochet with a running tackle. Sheamus gets in to ring and hits Moss with Irish Curse backbreaker. Sheamus then hits a backbreaker on Sami. Sheamus mocks Gunther’s pose in the middle of the ring. Sheamus hits 10 beats of boxes on Moss on the ropes against the referee. He does the same to Corbin.

Ricochet tries to fight with him but Sheamus then unloads on him with beats of boxes. It was Sami’s turn for the same but Sami countered by using the ropes. Corbin is also sent to the floor. Sami hits a suicide dive on Corbin and Sheamus. Sami fights with Ricochet in the ring. He hits a Blue Thunder bomb to get a near fall. Moss comes in and he also gets hit with a Blue Thunder bomb for a near fall. Sami goes to the top. He fights off Corbin.

Sheamus comes in and hits White Noise from the second rope. Sami rolls to the floor. Ricochet attacks Sheamus from behind. Moss hits running tackles. Sheamus hits Moss with a corner splash. Corbin also comes in and Sheamus also takes him down. Sami has left to backstage as we cut to a break.

Moss has Sheamus on the top rope and hits an avalanche fallaway slam. The commentary announces that Sami has suffered an injury. Ricochet hits a springboard moonsault on Moss. He uses a low bridge to send Corbin to the floor. Corbin comes and hits him with Deep six for a near fall. Corbin hits a rack bomb for another two-count. Sheamus faces off with him in the middle. They start back and forth before Sheamus clotheslines him to floor. Moss comes in and Sheamus nails him with a knee.

Sheamus signals for Brogue. Moss hits him with a spinebuster. Ricochet hits a recoil on Moss. Ricochet hits shooting star press on Sheamus. Corbin breaks the pin. Ricochet sends him to the floor again. Sami Zayn is returning to the ring and is clutching his shoulder as he enters. He hits an exploder suplex on Ricochet and a Helluva kick. Corbin pulls him out of the ring and sends him into the barricade. Sheamus nails Corbin with Brogue kick while he was getting ready to hit Ricochet. Sheamus gets the pin.

Winner – Sheamus

We get a pre-recorded video of The Viking Funeral of New Day. The Viking Raiders get marked on their foreheads. They pay their tribute to New Day, who they call warriors and heroes. They are here to get ready for further battles. They put fire on pyre and we get flashes in fire of their attack of injuring New Day.


We get a recap of Liv Morgan and Shayna Baszler’s contract signing segment and how Liv ended up countering Shayna to put her through the table. Liv gets interview backstage and says she has a big target on her injured arm, but she can’t sit back and relax right now.

After the break, we get a counter promo from Shotzi before she enters for the match.

Liv Morgan vs Shotzi

Shotzi asks for a show of strength but Liv hits a kick to the midsection. Liv hits more kicks and a dropkick to send her to the corner. Liv hits a knee strike in the corner. Shotzi drops her with a clothesline and a hip attack on the ropes. Liv hits back with a missile dropkick. Shotzi is sent to the apron and she hits back with punches, a kick and drops Liv’s face on the ropes. Liv drops to the floor as we cut to the floor.

Shotzi is in control as we return. Liv counters a drop but Shotzi gets her in a pin attempt to get a two-count. They trade shots while they are on the floor. Morgan hits Oblivion to get the pin.

Winner – Liv Morgan

Shayna Baszler attacks Liv after the match. She works on the injured arm, but decides against stomping on it as she is leaving it for Clash at the Castle.


The commentary team tells us that Adam Pearce did not press charges against Ronda Rousey and she is let go from the police.


Roman Reigns gets ready to make his entrance. Drew McIntyre also picks up his jacket, and finds Karrion Kross’ sand clock sitting in his locker room. We cut to a break.

Drew McIntyre & Roman Reigns Face Off

Roman Reigns makes his grand entrance. He is alone tonight. He gets into the ring and puts his hand out for a mic, but nobody is there to hand out the mic to him. Roman takes the mic from the crew. He asks the crowd to acknowledge him. He says he is not here every week, so, he is getting called out. If someone is saying that he is the star of the show, and carrying the show on his back, it is not true. He says there is only one person who is carrying this company on his back, that is Roman Reigns. Roman says he has nothing to say to Drew face to face.

Drew McIntyre’s music hits and he comes out to the ring. Drew says he would have love to say everythinig to his face, but he is not here every week. Drew says Roman is not representing the titles they should be, and don’t deserve to be the champion. Drew points out the reasons why- Roman has wiseman working on backstage politics, The Usos working as his henchmen. Drew says he seems something different in Roman’s eyes as he knows there is no person alive that Drew cannot tear apart. Drew claims that he will take the titles away from Roman at Clash at the Castle.

Drew removes his shirt. Roman punches him to start a brawl. Drew gets the upper hand and but Sami Zayn saves Roman from his Claymore. Roman nails Drew with the Superman punch. He gets ready for a spear but Drew counters with Claymore. Drew picks up the titles and poses to close the show.
