WWE SmackDown May 27, 2022 Results & Live Updates(w/ Preview)
WWE SmackDown episode of May 27, 2022, will feature a celebration for acknowledging The Bloodline after they have also unified the tag team titles now. The show will continue to build-up towards Hell in a Cell 2022 event. The show will air from Simmons Bank Arena in North Little Rock, AR.
Xavier Woods is bring in a mystery partner with Kofi Kingston to take on the Brawling Brutes. SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey clashes with Raquel Rodriguez in a rematch.

Live Updates
“Thank You” from The Usos
The show opens with a recap of The Usos beating RK-Bro last week to become undisputed tag team champions. The Usos come out to the ring with both RAW and SmackDown tag titles belt. They take the mic and asks everyone to raise their hands, point to sky and thank Roman for everything he has done. They also thank Roman for allowing to beat RK-Bro on their own.
Jimmy brings up their 12 years anniversary in WWE last week. He gets a bit emotional talking about the ups and downs of their journey in WWE. He says the fans were always there for them all this while they missed family time and all. He says, from the bottom of their family’s heart, thank you. Some mixed reactions from the crowd before “Usos” chants start. Jey takes the mic now and swerves by saying that they absolutely nobody for the past 12 years. They point at random fans in the crowd and say they do not need them. They take shot at Randy Orton being at home and Riddle being beaten up.
Shinsuke Nakamura comes out and says he and his partner wants to challenge them for tag team titles. Nakamura says his partner wanted to take them all on his own, but he will join him. The Usos asks if Nakamura is talking about Rick Boogs. Nakamura reveals his tag team partner and it is none other than Riddle. Riddle and Nakamura get to the apron when a brawl breaks out. Riddle is kicked to the floor after a while. He comes back to help out Nakamura and sends The Usos packing.
We get a recap of Ronda Rousey vs Raquel Rodrigiez at SmackDown two weeks back. Raquel makes her way to the ring, Shotzi is backstage with many fellow locker room stars and asks why Rodrigiez is getting another shot at the title instead of all of them. She asks Xia Li why he is not there since she is still undefeated. Xia Li leaves the locker room in anger. She asks Aliyah why she is not challenging Ronda as she holds the record for the fastest win. Aliyah tells her to shut up. Shotzi also asks Natalya and Shayna the same thing before we cut to a break.
Riddle and Shinsuke Nakamura are backstage for an interview. Riddle reveals that it was Randy Orton’s idea for him to team up with Nakamura.
Ronda Rousey(c) vs Raquel Rodriguez – WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship
Raquel starts with a waistlock takedown. Ronda hits at her midsection. Ronda tries to use the ropes to work on hand but Raquel powers up and goes for the powerbomb. Ronda avoids it. Raquel puts her in torture rack. Natalya and Shayna Baszler attack them to cause a DQ.
Winner – No Result
Ronda and Raquel fight back against Natalya and Shayna and force them to the floor.
Ronda Rousey & Raquel Rodriguez vs Shayna Baszler & Natalya
Shayna is working on Raquel’s leg as we return. Raquel kicks her away but misses a swing on Natalya. Raquel kicks Shayna put to the floor. The tag is stopped by Natalya. Raquel kicks her away and tags in Ronda. Ronda drops Natalya with judo throws. Natalya takes her down and goes for the sharpshooter. Baszler and Raquel tag in from either sides. Raquel blocks a suplex attempt before hitting her with a headbutt. Ronda and Natalya try to get involved. Natalaya shoves Ronda into Shayna and they come face to face for a while. Natalaya pulls Ronda to the floor. Raquel hits Shayna with gigoda bomb to get the pin.
Winners – Raquel Rodriguez & Ronda Rousey
New Day are backstage and are asked about their mystery partner from tonight. They take random names from Hollywood, superheroes and more, but their point is that they have an element of surprise over the Brawling Brutes tonight.
Los Lotharios comes out for their match and do their kiss cam as we cut to a break.
After the break, Jinder Mahal is searching for Shanky backstage and finds him dancing on his theme in a locker room. Mahal snaps at Shanky and asks him to come with him for the match. They make their entrance and Shanky is dancing once again.
Los Lotharios(Angel & Humberto) vs Shanky & Jinder Mahal
Shanky starts with Humberto and hits a big boot on Humberto to drop him. Mahal tags in and Humberto hits him with headscissors and a dropkick. Angel comes in for some double team. They hit double chops before Angel put on a side headlock. Mahal hits a kick on Angel and a back body drop on Humberto when he comes in.
Angel low bridges Mahal to the floor and slams his face into the table. Angel is dancing in front of timekeeper. Shanky comes behind him and dances for a while. Shanky hits a superkick on Angel before dropping him to the mat. In the ring, Humberto hits a nosedive to get the pin on Mahal.
Winners – Los Lotharios
After the match, Angel and Humberto leave. Mahal shouts at Shanky. Shanky signals that he has enough. Mahal gets frustrated and leaves. Shanky starts dancing in front of the announcer Samantha Erwin as Mahal’s theme hits again.
Backstage, Adam Pearce is watching all this. Max Dupri comes in his office. Pearce tells him that legal team has told him that his contract is fine. Pearce welcomes Dupri to Smackdown.
The KO Show
Kevin Owens talks about his match against Ezekiel at Hell in a Cell breifly. He brings out his guest for tonight – the Locker Room leader and Bloodline member Sami Zayn. Zayn and KO start complimenting each other and show each other some support. Sami says Elias and Ezekiel are same person. KO gets emotional and hugs Sami when he says this. KO asks Sami to drop everything on SmackDown and come to RAW to call out all these liars.
Sami replies that this is not a good time since he is being the locker room leader and managing Bloodline and what not. KO gets miffed at this reply and tells Sami that he is not part of the Bloodline and that he is sounding like a moron. Sami also gets angry and tells KO that Elias and Ezekiel are clearly two different people and everybody can see it except for Owens. They argue for a bit.
Owens then asks Sami if he calls the Bloodline out would they should come out for Sami. KO calls out the Bloodline but they do not come out. KO tells Sami that he is sorry but clearly the Bloodline don’t care about at all. Sami leaves the ring. KO follows him to the ramp and once again asks him to get to come with him to RAW. Sami pushes him away and leaves. Some crew members are removing KO show set in the ring. KO hits the crew members with stunners.
Ricochet & Drew Gulak vs Gunther & Ludwig Kaiser
Gulak and Kaiser start the match. Kaiser takes down Gulak before they trade side headlocks. Gunther hits Gulak with a big boot from the outside when the referee was looking the other way. Gunther comes in and tosses Gulak over the top. We cut to a break.
Back from the break, Gunther has Gulak in a standing surfboard briefly. He hits Gulak with some big chop on his back. Kaiser tags in and Gulak escapes waist lock to tag in Ricochet. Ricochet hits a Frankensteiner and follows with a springboard crossbody. Kaiser rolls up Ricochet for a two-count after Gunther gets inside for a distraction.
Ricochet hits a knee strike. Kaiser rakes his eyes and he tags out to Gulak. Kaiser jabs at his throat. Kaiser hits a penalty kick on Gulak to get the pin.
Winners – Gunther & Ludwig Kaiser
New Day(Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston) & Drew McIntyre vs The Brawling Brutes(Butch, Sheamus & Ridge Holland)
Woods starts against Butch. Butch drops him with a tackle before taking a shot at Kofi and Drew. Drew is unmoved. Butch with another tackle before Woods drops him with an elbow. Kofi tags in for some quick double team moves involving elbow drops, kicks and a double team bulldog.
Butch tags out to Sheamus. Sheamus drops Woods to the apron and hits his signature chest blows. Butch comes in for the final blow and unleashes with more shots. Ridge hits a big suplex before Woods tags out to Kofi. Kofi comes in with a dropkick and more quick moves. Woods tags in and back body drops Butch to the floor. Ridge is in the opposite corner. Drew tags in for some stomps. Woods tags back in. Sheamus runs a distraction and Butch takes a cheat shot at Woods. We cut to a break.
Brawling Brutes are in control against Kofi. Sheamus hits a knee drop from the top. Holland comes in and Kofi uses some confusion with Butch to send him to the corner. Sheamus comes in and Kofi hits him with a DDT. Kofi goes to tag out but his partners are swept off the apron. Sheamus hits the reverse Alabama slam to get a near fall.
Kofi hits SOS on Sheamus. Drew returns to the apron to tag in. Drew hits clotheslines on Holland. He follows with an elbow and a belly to belly suplex. Butch comes in and hits eats a suplex. A bit spinebuster to Sheamus follows. Woods hits a suicide dive on Butch. Sheamus hits him with a pump kick. Kofi hits a dive on Sheamus. In the ring, Drew hits a Glasgow kiss and Claymore kick on Holland. Drew tags to Woods, who hits a ropewalk elbow drop on Holland to get the pin.
Winners – Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston & Drew McIntyre
After the match, The Brawling Brutes recover on the floor. New Day’s music hits and they start dancing. They also get Drew to dance around. Drew’s music hits as the show goes off the air.

Acknowledge The Bloodline: Until now, we were just acknowledging Roman Reigns ever since he has got his hands on Universal Championship. Now, it is time to acknowledge The Usos after they became the unified Tag Team Champions. How will the crowd respond to them? And what is next in Roman Reigns’ mind? Will someone step up to end the Bloodline’s reign?
Woods’ Mystery Partner?: Xavier Woods defeated Butch last week once again in a singles match. However, he was jumped by Sheamus and Ridge Holland. With Kofi Kingston returning this week, Woods will bring in another partner to take on the Brawling Brutes trio. Who will this mystery person be? And will New Day end their feud on a high?
SmackDown Women’s Title Rematch: Raquel Rodriguez presented herself as the first challenger for Ronda Rousey as the champion when she answered the open challenge. We will get a rematch between them this week.
