WWE SmackDown episode of July 1, 2022, will be the Money in the Bank go-home edition and will continue to build hype towards it. The show will air live from the Footprint Center in Phoenix, AZ. 

All the participants for MITB matches will come face to face before the weekend’s event. It is expected that it might reveal the final participant of the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder match. A trios match between RAW and SmackDown women’s participants is also announced. The Viking Raiders will face New Day in a tag team match.

What’s Best Use for MITB Briefcase?

All the participants from men’s Money in the Bank ladder match are up on ladders in the ring. Omos is standing down with MVP. Seth Rollins starts the promos by saying that Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns at Summerslam is the best chance to cash in the MITB contract when he wins. Riddle interrupts and claims that he will win the briefcase and will be very happy to take the title away from the arrogant Roman Reigns. Sami Zayn says when he wins MITB breifcase, he will just sit on it for 365 days and let it expire to protect Roman.

Sheamus reminds everyone how he has cashed in against Roman before and it would be good to do it on Brock Lesnar also. Drew McIntyre also says his piece before MVP gets into promo action. They get interrupted by The Miz. Miz says he should be the last participant in the match tomorrow since he is the only two time MITB holder in this company. Ezekiel comes out and says he was supposed to have a MITB qualifier against Kevin Owens, so he deserves to be the last participant in the match. Happy Corbin comes out and says he has been the most lucky person in Vegas in last year. Madcap Moss comes out and reminds him of the losses against him. WWE Official Adam Pearce comes out and announces a battle royal for some reason.

Battle Royal

Participants – Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Sami Zayn, Riddle, Happy Corbin, Ezekiel, Madcap Moss, Seth Rollins, Omos & The Miz

Chaos ensues as the match starts. Zayn tries to eliminate Riddle but Riddle hangs onto the ropes. Sheamus throws Rollins over but Rollins holds on again. McIntyre was about to eliminate Miz but Miz rakes his eyes. Omos eliminates Ezekiel by throwing him over. Omos then eliminates Madcap Moss. Zayn sends Miz into Omos and Omos throws him out also. Riddle hits some quick combo strikes on Omos but Omos just swats him away. McIntyre now go face to face with Omos with some strikes. Omos drops him with a headbutt.

Sheamus is thrown to the corner. Omos drops Sami with an elbow to the head. Rollins and Omos now come face to face. Rollins looks at the MITB breifcase at the top and jumps out of the ring to get eliminated. Riddle comes out of the ring and hits Rollins with an RKO on the floor. Riddle now puts Omos in an arm triangle on the ropes. McIntyre and Sheamus tips Omos over to eliminate him. We cut to a break.

Riddle and Sheamus are fighting as we return from a break. Sheamus hits a clothesline. Riddle holds onto the ropes to avoid elimination. Corbin hits a big kne e on McIntyre in one corner. Sheamus hits chops on Riddle on the apron. Corbin picks up Riddle after that and puts him on the top turnbuckle. Sheamus now unloads on Sami. Corbin hits Riddle with a chokeslam backbreaker. McIntyre hits a suplex throw on Sami. McIntyre now beats up Corbin. Sheamus hits his signature blows on Sami.

Sami hits a cutter on the ropes. Riddle hits Sheamus with Bro to Sleep. Sheamus starts to fight back after sometime but runs into a powerslam from Riddle. Riddle follows with a hanging DDT. Sheamus counters RKO and pushes Riddle to the ropes. He hits Brogue kick to eliminate Riddle. Sheamus is dropped by Sami from behind. McIntyre and Sami work on McIntyre together. Sami ends up hitting Helluva kick on Corbin. McIntyre hits Sami with a neckbreaker. He was getting ready for Claymore but Sheamus cuts him off with Brogue kick.

Sheamus goes to eliminate McIntyre but he fights back on the apron. McIntyre hits a Glasgow kiss before hitting some belly-to-belly suplexes. McIntyre also hits one to Sami. He hits Sheamus with futureshock DDT. McIntyre stops elimination attempt from Sami and hits him with a Claymore. McIntyre eliminates Sami. He goes to Sheamus over but Corbin comes in from behind and tips both Sheamus and McIntyre over to win the match.

Winner- Happy Corbin

After the break, Corbin is interviewed backstage and he is thrilled by upsetting people in the crowd and the ones watching from home. Corbin is asked about the challenge from Pat McAfee, but he just avoids the question.


We get a recap of Natalya dressing up as Ronda Rousey from last week and how that segment went down. Natalya is interviewed backstage. She says talking is the only thing left for Ronda now and she is bashing her charisma and her talent. Natalya says Ronda is lashing out because Ronda is not 100% right now. She claims that she will make Ronda tap out and become the first person to do so to become a two-time SmackDown Women’s Championship.

The Viking Raiders(Erik & Ivar) vs New Day(Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods)

New Day pair of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods cut a promo in the ring for the new “dangerous” Viking Raiders. Raiders make their entrance. Woods offers them mic to speak but Ivar throws it away. New Day start a brawl but The Raiders took over immediately using the shields as battering rams. The Raiders go on to beat up New Day for a while and show their dominance. The Raiders leave. The match never started.

Ezekiel, Happy Corbin, The Miz and Madcap Moss are arguing backstage over the last spot in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Adam Pearce finally announced a fatal 4-way match between them to decide the last participant.

Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan & Asuka vs Lacey Evans, Shotzi and Raquel Gonzalez

All six women are in the ring, ready to start the match. Becky Lynch comes out with a mic and says nothing important happens without her. She says she is not fighting tonight and will take the commentary table.

Asuka and Shotzi start the match. Shotzi runs away to the corner to avoid Asuka’s kicks. Lacey tags in and lock up. She ducks a spinning backfist and goes for the waistlock. Asuka is whipped to the corner for some quick attack by Lacey and Raquel. Asuka counters a powerbomb and Raquel misses an elbow drop. Alexa tags in after Asuka hits a running kick. Alexa gets cornered by Raquel and gets hit with a stinger splash. Raquel knocks Alexa over with a clothesline. Raquel misses boot in the corner and Alexa brings in Liv for some double-team attack.

Liv hits a hurricanrana and a knee in the corner. Shotzi takes a blind tag as Raquel slams Liv to the mat. Shotzi hits a knee and senton against the ropes on Liv. Shotzi sends Liv to the corner but Liv ducks her and catapults Shotzi into the corner. Shotzi leaves the ring and Lacey goes to talk to her. Liv hits a suicide dive on both of them. Asuka hits a big kick to knock off Raquel from the apron and Alexa hits her with a cannonball from the apron. We cut to a break as Asuka, Alexa and Liv stand tall.

Raquel hits hitting short arm tackles on Asuka as we return. Asuka tags in Alexa and who hits some quick kicks and a dropkick on Raquel. Shotzi tags in and helps Raquel hit a body slam on Alexa. Shotzi hits a low dropkick and gets a two-count on Alexa. She hits a corner splash next. A suplex into the turnbuckle follows. Bliss hits an elbow in the corner and hits a sunset flip. Shotzi rolls through and puts Bliss into a Boston Crab.

Bliss turns it around after some struggle. Asuka tags in to hits hip attack on Lacey to knock her off the apron. A running tackle on Shotzi before she counters a step-up enzuigiri. Asuka hits a German suplex to get a two-count. Liv takes the blind tag after Asuka misses a hip attack. Everyone starts to get involved with big moves. Liv hits Shotzi with Oblivion to get the pin.

Winners- Liv Morgan, Asuka & Alexa Bliss

Liv asks Asuka and Alexa Bliss to join in the celebration. Becky Lynch sneaks in and hits Asuka with the Mandhandle Slam.

Sonya Deville confronts Adam Pearce backstage over putting her in a 2-on-1 handicap match after she asked for an opportunity. She says it was a wrong thing from Pearce. Pearce replies that he does not think so. Deville ends up punching him in the face.

AMA with The Usos & The Street Profits

We are getting an AMA(Ask Me Anything) segment with The Usos and The Street Profits. Kayla Braxton is co-ordinating the segment. The Usos are asked about if they are afraid of losing the tag team titles tomorrow, and how Roman Reigns is going to react to them losing. The Usos does some antics and say they are not afraid at all. The Profits take shot and it almost comes to blows.

Kayla asks The Profits about their loss at WrestleMania and rumors of them not getting along. Profits take shots at Dirt Sheets for this news. They talk about their killer instincts before bringing in the legacy that The Samoan Dynasty has for The Usos. They add that The Usos are still not ready for The Profits. The Usos come out of their stand and start talking trash. Kayla leaves the ring quitely. The Profits do The Usos’ “We The One” before the two teams face-off.

Max Dupri is in Adam Pearce’s face as he sells Sonya’s punch. Dupri says he is very excited as the world finally gets to see Maximum Male Models.

Maximum Male Models

Max Dupri has the spotlight on him and talks about the motto of Maximum Male Models. He introduces Mace who will now go be Ma.Ce(pronounced something like Macaey). Mace comes out to the stage, which has a red carpet, and does an awkward ramp walk. Mace poses for the cameras as Dupri talks about him on the mic.

Dupri next introduces Mansoor, who now goes by Man.Soor(pronounced as Mansua). Mansoor also go for a bad rampwalk and poses for the camera. He has a fanny pack across his chest for some reason. Dupri says Mansoor has the most important thing in fashion- charisma. Dupri also says not to bother trying to join Maximum Male Models unless they are better than Ma.Ce and Man.Soor.


SmackDown Women’s Ronda Rousey is interviewed backstage and is asked about Natalya’s comment that she saw fear in her eyes. Ronda says it is fun to teach Natalya sell a fight, and corrects Natalya that her baby is 10 months old. Ronda rubs of fear claims before leaving.

Ezekiel vs Madcap Moss vs Happy Corbin vs The Miz – Fatal 4-way Money in the Bank Qualifier

Some scramble to start the match. Madcap and Ezekiel are the two left in the ring after a while. Ezekiel hits a tackle to drop Madcap. Madcap hits him with a back elbow. Corbin attacks Madcap from behind. Madcap hits a flying shoulder tackle from the second rope. Miz beats up Madcap before Corbin joins in with a corner splash. Corbin invites Miz to hit a corner splash but runs him over with a clothesline. Ezekiel cuts off Corbin on the floor and throws him over the barricade. Ezekiel and Moss work on Miz together before Corbin attacks them from behind. Corbin drops Ezekiel on the announce table with a chokeslam to take us to a break.

Moss drops Miz with a tackle as we return. He takes down Corbin and Miz in quick succession. Corbin breaks a pin attempt on Miz. Madcap catapults Miz into Corbin’s groin. Madcap hits a punch line on Miz but Ezekiel breaks the pin. Ezekiel and Madcap go back and forth until Miz takes over and hits It kicks on them. Corbin comes in and Miz hits him with kicks in the corner.

Corbin hits Miz with Deep Six for a near fall. Corbin trade shots with Ezekiel. Ezekiel hits him with a mule kick, sends Madcap to the corner shoulder first and hits corner splashes on Miz and Madcap in quick succession. Corbin and Miz cut off his attacks before he hits a spinebuster on Madcap. Miz ends up hitting Skull Crushing Finale on Ezekiel. Corbin pulls Miz out and sends him over the barricade. Corbin hits End of Days on Ezekiel. Madcap throws Corbin into the ringpost and pins Ezekiel to get the win.

Winner- Madcap Moss

Moss celebrates his win as the commentators go through the line-up for men’s MITB match. Pat McAfee closes the show by laughing out loud on Corbin.

MITB Participants Face to Face: MITB participants for men and women’s ladder matches will be in the ring face to face one last time before Saturday’s event. A trios match between the women participants is also announced as Asuka, Alexa Bliss & Liv Morgan take on Lacey Evans, Shotzi & Raquel Gonzalez.

The Viking Raiders Redebut: The Viking Raiders returned to SmackDown last week and attacked New Day. They will face Kofi and Woods this week in a tag team match. Will they emerge to be the next tag title challengers?
