WWE SmackDown episode of December 16, 2022, will feature the return of the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns for the first time since Survivor Series WarGames.
Gunther will defend his Intercontinental title against the winner of the SmackDown World Cup, Ricochet. Damage CTRL vs Liv Morgan & Tegan Nox Women’s Tag Team Championship match and a triple-threat tag match between The Viking Raiders, Legado del Fantasma, and Hit Row have also been announced. Roman Reigns Appears
The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns will make an appearance on the blue brand. However, the agenda of the Tribal Chief is still unknown. This appearance from Roman might begin a new feud that leads to a match at the New Year’s Special edition episode of SmackDown or Royal Rumble 2023.
Jey Uso has asked Sami Zayn to tidy up saying that this might be a big night for him. Does Roman Reigns has any plans for Sami? Will we see a new look from Sami?
Gunther vs Ricochet
Gunther defeated Ricochet to win the Intercontinental Championship back in June this year. Gunther also won the rematch against Ricochet a few weeks later. But now, Ricochet is back again to challenge the champion for the IC title. He received this title shot by winning SmackDown World Cup as he defeated Santos Escober in the finals. Will Ricochet be able to maintain momentum and beat Gunther this time around?
Liv Morgan & Tegan Nox vs Damage CTRL
A few weeks back, Tegan Nox returned to WWE and assisted Liv Morgan against Damage CTRL. Last week, this newly formed defeated SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler in a tag-team match. Now, they have their eyes set on the tag titles challenging Dakota Kai & Iyo Sky. Will Morgan and Nox be able to dethrone Damage CTRL?
The Viking Raiders vs Legado Del Fantasma vs Hit Row
Legado Del Fantasma made their debut by attacking Hit-Row a couple of months back. When The Viking Raiders returned, they also targeted both these teams. These three teams have continued their feuds since and were involved in a brawl last week also. As a result, a triple-threat tag-team match involving The Viking Raiders, Legado Del Fantasma, and Hit Row was booked.
What Else to Expect?
Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre reportedly suffered the same injury. Roman is returning on this episode. Will Drew also return?
