Brock Lesnar Returns!!
As it has been the norm with him, Brock Lesnar will be returning to RAW with Royal Rumble in the horizon. Lesnar’s last appearance came 6 weeks back at WWE Survivor Series where he defended his title against Rey Mysterio. In the time that Lesnar has spent away from WWE, Mysterio has won and lost the WWE United States Championship.
Lesnar’s challengers for Royal Rumble are not known yet. The rumors circulating around have termed Rollins, McIntyre, and Rowan as the challengers. But some rumors also indicated the possibility of Lesnar not even defending the title at Royal Rumble. Whatever it may be, the situation will clear out by the end of the show tonight.
The Viking Raiders vs Street Profits vs The OC- RAW Tag Team Championship
The Viking Raiders will be defending their tag team titles against Street Profits and The OC in a three-way tag team match. The OC, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, got their shot at the title by the distinction that they are the only team to beat the Viking Raiders twice in tag team matches. The Street Profits then defeated The OC last week at RAW to become one of the contenders themselves.
While The Viking Raiders have had very indifferent title reign thus far and they have not helped in taking the division any further. But all the blame for this failure should actually go towards WWE Creative. While this might seem to be a missed opportunity for The Vikings, the title change is looking more possible on the card here.
Andrade vs Rey Mysterio
Andrade won the United States Championship from Rey Mysterio at a house show at Madison Square Garden. Since that match was not televised, it is natural that a rematch is taking place on RAW now. The booking is expected to be the same as all of Andrade’s recent matches. (Zelina Vega causing some sort of interference and Andrade capitalizing on it).
But the more pressing concern here will be whether Rollins & AOP try to interfere with Mysterio again. With Rollins’ recent knack of becoming the moral compass, it is entirely a possibility.
What More to Expect?
Two more matches are announced locally but are not confirmed by WWE yet. So, they may turn out to be dark matches.
- Kevin Owens vs Seth Rollins(w/ Authors of Pain)
- Kabuki Warriors vs Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair
If Rowan is not among the contenders to face Brock Lesnar, his ‘cage’ angle is expected to continue this week also. Also expected is Aleister Black and Buddy Murphy’s feud to continue further.
Who else will join Royal Rumble from Men’s and Women’s Division? Only Charlotte Flair is announced from RAW till now.
