WWE RAW October 16: Two Title Matches, Fall Count Anywhere & More Set
WWE has announced five matches for October 16, 2023, episode of RAW, including Intercontinental Championship Match, Undisputed Tag Team Title bout and a Falls Count Anywhere match.
Gunther will be defending his Intercontinental title at October 16 episode of RAW against Bronson Reed. Reed got the title opportunity at October 9 episode of RAW by defeating Ricochet and Chad Gable in a triple threat match. Gunther’s most recent title defense took place on the October 2 episode of RAW, where he successfully defeated Tomasso Ciampa.
Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso will defend their Undisputed Tag Team titles on October 16 episode of RAW, where they will face Finn Balor and Damian Priest.

Rhodes and Jey won the titles at Fastlane 2023 PLE, where they defeated Priest and Balor. During the October 9 episode of RAW, Damian Priest was visibly frustrated with his loss. However, Rhea Ripley tried to calm him down before Balor told him that were getting a title opportunity on the next week’s episode of RAW. Cody and Jey successfully defended their titles against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens in the main event this week.
Rhea Ripley is also set for next week’s RAW episode, where she will face Rhea Shayna Baszler. During this week’s show, Rhea attacked Raquel Rodriguez and Nia Jax during their singles match. Shayna Baszler also came out to attack Nia. Baszler ended up dropping Rhea with a German suplex.
Later in the show, Rhea went to Adam Pearce and said she wanted to get women;s division in order, and would want a match against Baszler next week. Baszler also expressed her confidence by boldly asserting that she is the baddest and strongest woman on the roster.
Shinsuke Nakamura is also scheduled for the show, where he will face Ricochet in a Falls Count Anywhere match. During October 9 RAW episode, there was a series of altercations between Ricochet and Shinsuke Nakamura. Initially, Ricochet attacked Nakamura from behind during an interview. Later, Nakamura retaliated by attacking Ricochet as he was making his entrance for his scheduled triple threat match.
Nakamura defeated Ricochet in a singles match on September 18 RAW episode. Nakamura also attacked Ricochet on September 25 episode backstage to enrage Seth Rollins.
Natalya is also scheduled to compete in a match on the October 16 episode of RAW, where she will face off against Piper Niven. They were involved in an argument backstage this week when Natalya was trying to cheer Tegan Nox while Chelsea Green and Piper were trying to put her down.
