AJ Styles vs Rey Mysterio – WWE United States Championship Match
Styles rushes Mysterio in the corner and stomps him to the mat. AJ slams Rey’s head into a few turnbuckles while talking trash the whole time. Styles hangs him in the tree of woe and hits a sliding dropkick. AJ with a headlock and Mysterio gets decked in the head when he tries to fight back. Styles slams his face in the ropes now. Mysterio blocks a suplex and hits a kick in midsection.
Rey goes for a springboard crossbody but his knee gives up. AJ slams him before Mysterio eventually hits the springboard crossbody. Rey drops AJ on the ropes for the 619. He runs the rope but Karl Anderson trips him, The referee saw what happened and boots the Good Brothers from the ringside.
AJ whips Rey hard into the turnbuckles as we return from the break. He puts Rey at the top where Rey fights back but AJ gets him in the tree of woe. AJ goes for the basement slide dropkick but Rey moves out and AJ slides into the ring post. Rey climbs on top in the corner and hits a series of punches. He hits a bulldog and gets two-count.
Mysterio takes time to get to the top which gives AJ the time to get up and deck him on the face. Rey and Styles tangle at the top and Rey headbutts him. AJ hits the Ushigarushi for two-count. Rey counters Styles clash with a Canadian destroyer powerbomb for a near fall. He drops AJ on the ropes and hits the 619. AJ drops on the referee and both of them are down. Rey covers AJ but the referee is down.
Gallows and Anderson get back and start beating Rey. Randy Orton runs out and takes care of them. AJ fights back against Orton but Orton ducks the phenomenal forearm. Rey drops him to the ropes with a hurricanrana. Rey and Orton hit Styles with 619 and RKO back to back. Rey hits the frog splash and the referee finally gets up for the three counts.
Winner- Rey Mysterio, new United States Champion
Charly Caruso is with Kevin Owens backstage. Owens takes the mic and starts a promo, unleashing hard words on Rollins. He says he has never tried to be something he’s not in WWE, even when people tried to force him to, because he knows who he is and will always be. Owens says Rollins has always tried to be what he thinks WWE needs him to be, but he’s just turned himself into an insufferable prick. Owens goes on and says the next Stunner coming from him to Rollins will turn Monday Night Rollins into The Kevin Owens Show.
