STORYLINES
NXT Championship Match: A-Town Down Under’s Austin Theory & Grayson Waller hosted NXT Champion Oba Femi in the special edition of The Grayson Waller Effect during NXT January 28 episode. As Theory & Waller tried to undermine Femi’s accomplishments, Femi retaliated by saying that he has accomplished more than both of them in a shorter time. Femi also challenged to defend the NXT title against any of them at Vengeance Day. NXT General Manager Ava took issue with Femi declaring his opponents like that and announced that Femi would defend the title in a triple threat match against both Theory and Waller.
NXT Women’s Championship Match: Giulia defeated Roxxane Perez at NXT New Year’s Evil 2025 to win NXT Women’s Championship. The following week, Perez’s promo was cut short by Bayley who tried to advise her. As Perez did not like being advised, it led to a brawl between them. On NXT January 21 episode, Giulia interrupted Bayley’s promo to show her gratitude. They were then attacked Perez and Cora Jade. The following week, Giulia and Bayley defeated Perez & Jade in a tag team match where Jade was the one who got pinned. Later that night, Ava announced a triple threat match at Vengeance Day between Giulia, Perez and Bayley for the title.
NXT Women’s North American Championship Match: At NXT New Year’s Evil, Stephaine Vaquer won a fatal 4-way match to become the #1 contender for Women’s North American Championship. However, her title shot was delayed since Shotzi pinned her in a tag team match later in that show. Shotzi then defeated Vaquer in a match the following week to decide who would challenge the reigning champion Fallon Henley first. After Henley defended her title successfully on January 28 episode, Vaquer confronted Henley and their match was announced for Vengeance Day.
