Carmelo Hayes vs Grayson Waller NXT Spring Breakin' 2023

Welcome to the live results and updates blog for WWE NXT Spring Breakin’ 2023 event which will be live on April 25, 2023.

Carmelo Hayes’ first defense of NXT Championship is set for the show as he faces #1 contender Grayson Waller. Waller won a fatal 4-way match to get this opportunity. Indi Hartwell is set to defend NXT Women’s Championship against Roxanne Perez and Tiffany Stratton.

Former NXT Champion Bron Breakker will try to come to terms with non-title matches as he faces Andre Chase in a singles match. Cora Jade and Lyra Valkyrie will clash in a grudge match. Oba Femi will make his NXT debut to complete the quota of singles match.

A mixed tag team match is set between the teams of Josh Briggs & Fallon Henley, and Brooks Jensen & Kiana James. Pretty Deadly will face Tony D’Angelo and Stacks in the first-ever Trunks match.

  • Tony D’Angelo & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo defeated Pretty Deadly(Kit Wilson & Elton Prince) in a Trunk Match.
  • Bron Breakker defeated Andre Chase in a singles match via submission.
  • Cora Jade defeated Lyra Valkyrie in a singles match via pinfall.
  • Carmelo Hayes(c) defeated Grayson Waller in a singles match via pinfall to retian NXT Championship.
  • Josh Briggs & Fallon Henley defeated Brooks Jensen & Kiana James in a Mixed Tag Team match via pinfall.
  • Oba Femi defeated Oro Mensah in a singles match via pinfall.
  • Indi Hartwell(c) defeated Roxanne Perez & Tiffany Stratton in a Triple Threat match for NXT Women’s Championship.

LIVE UPDATES

The show starts with NXT Roster on a picnic in a park. They do normal picnic stuff with fun and games but also discuss the match card for tonight’s show. We cut to the arena as Tony D’Angelo and Stack make their entrance. Pretty Deadly make their entrance next.

Pretty Deadly(Kit Wilson & Elton Prince) vs Tony D’Angelo & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo – Trunk Match

Tony and Stacks attack Pretty Deadly on the floor but Pretty Deadly take over control. They try to use chains but Tony and Stacks take them to the ring to start beating them up. Big uppercuts from Pretty Deadly but Tony & Stacks hit them back. They clothesline Wilson to the floor. Prince is sent into the corner and Tony hit an armdrag on Stacks to send him into Prince.

Stacks and Tony continue their attack on the floor and uses the lids in their moves. They bring out a table. Pretty Deadly drive them into the apron. They put the table behind the stage but gets attacked by Tony and Stacks on the apron. Tony hits Wilson’s knee with wheelbarrow. Stacks use a skateboard in a bulldog to take us to a break.

Pretty Deadly are in control after the break. Wilson hits a running knee on Stacks’ face. Tony runs him over with a clothesline. Stacks and Tony take Pretty Deadly into the ring and hit them with steel chair shots on their back. Wilson avoids Stacks in the corner and Prince attacks Tony to take him to the floor. Pretty Deadly work on Stacks and put him in a tree of woe. They hit more chair shots on Tony’s back.

Prince brings in a trash can and they suplex Tony on top of it. Stacks tries to fight back but Pretty Deadly hit spilt milk on Stacks on the floor. They carry Stacks to the back and put him in the trunk. They go to put Tony also but Stacks sprays them with fire extinguisher. Wilson is thrown into the trunk first after Tony hits him with a crowbar. Prince is hit with a double powerbomb on a table before being put in the trunk of the car to win the match.

Tony and Stacks drive away the car to outside.


Tiffany Stratton gets out of her card in the parking lot and cuts a quick promo claiming that she is winning NXT Women’s Championship.


Andre Chase is silently sitting backstage, gathering his shots. Duke Hudson comes in and hypes him up his match which is next. Chase gets hyped and get out of his room with Duke.

Bron Breakker vs Andre Chase

Chase rushes him after the bell ring and unloads in the corner. Breakker picks him up but Chase slips out. Breakker takes him to the corner for quick shoulder tackles. Breakker whips him from corner to corner and hits a tackle. He repeats this before hitting a back body drop. He misses a spear in the corner. Chase hits him with a dropkick on his back. Chase drops his face on the ropes. Back to the ring, Chase hits a side Russian Leg Sweep. Chase goes for Chase U kicks but Breakker stops him after the second kick. Breakker hits a body slam and puts on the Camel Clutch to get a submission.

Winner – Bron Breakker

We get a video package for NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes.


Ilja Dragunov is backstage where he gets attacked by Dijak. Dijak sends him into a ladder repeatedly and asks him how it feel to interrupt in his business. Dijak traps Ilja under the shutter and kicks at him. Crew members and referees run in to separate Dijak and send him away.

Cora Jade vs Lyra Valkyrie

Lyra starts with punches and kicks. Cora whips her to the corner but Lyra hits pump kick and an armdrag. She hits a springboard crossbody to get a two-count. We cut to a break.

Back and forth action as we return from the break. Lyra hits a running knee. She hits a North Lights suplex. She hits another one but Cora blocks the third one and hits a big blow to her back. Lyra sends her to the floor with a back body drop. Lyra hits a pump kick to knock her off the apron. Cora is brought back to the ring. Lyra hits a missile dropkick and hooks her leg to hit a suplex to get a two-count.

Cora counters with an inside cradle to get a two-count. Lyra comes off the ropes to hit a side kick to the face. Cora ducks a round house kick and goes to the floor. She pulls Lyra’s arm into the ropes. Cora brings in a crowbar but the referee takes it away. Lyra goes for a roundhouse kick but Cora ducks it and hits a chop block. Cora hits a DDT to get the pinfall.

Winner – Cora Jade

Tony and Stacks are driving when they hear loud voices from Pretty Deadly. Stacks goes out and checks on them and slams the lid on their face a few times to shut them down.

Carmelo Hayes(c) vs Grayson Waller – NXT Championship

Waller comes out with a model who is carrying a Golden Shoe for his shoey celebration. Hayes is out with Trick Williams. They lock and quickly switch waistlocks. Waller gets a double leg takedown. Waller runs the ropes before Hayes hits him with a dropkick. Waller gets him in a crucifix pin before Hayes counters with an attempt of his own. Hayes hits a springboard clothesline. He is able to hit a suplex off the ropes. Waller brings him down from the top. He hits some big shots on Hayes. Williams tries to run an interference but Waller hits him with chair shots. We cut to a break.

Waller has put on a single leg Boston Crab on Hayes as we return. Hayes rolls over and kicks at his face to break free. Hayes puts him on the ropes and hits a leg drop to get a two-count. Waller fires back with punches. Hayes hits back in his face before they drop each other with clotheslines. Waller’s hand lands on top of Hayes and the referee starts to count the pinfall, only for Hayes to kick out in time.

Hayes hits a series of punches and kicks. He targets the knee with some kicks before a springboard DDT to get a two-count. Hayes goes to the top but Waller moves to the corner to avoid any more. Hayes goes for a move on the apron. Waller gets to the floor before dropping him on the ropes. Waller hits a back heel kick before a Michinoku driver to get a two-count.

Hayes goes for a springboard move but Waller counters with stunner. Hayes quickly rolls to the floor to avoid the pinfall. Waller clears the announce table and hits an elbow drop on Hayes. Waller brings in Hayes quickly but he is able to kick out of the pin. The crowd gets behind Carmelo. He hits Codebreaker out of nowhere. Waller pulls his arm and throat into the ropes. Hayes hits him with a thrust kick when he gets into the ring. Hayes hits a leg drop to get the pinfall.

Winner – Carmelo Hayes

Carmelo Hayes takes the mic and tells Breakker to do it again at NXT Battleground. Hayes and Williams await Breakker as his music hits. He comes in from behind and catches Williams with a spear. He unloads on Hayes who moves to the floor. Breakker puts Williams to sleep with a camel clutch. He takes Hayes through a banner with a spear.


Roxanne Perez gets a pre-recorded promo where she talks about being inspired by all the women stars.


Joe Coffey is backstage when Joe Gacy comes in and asks for tag title rematch for The Dyad. Coffey asks him why is it his problem. Ava comes in and tells him how The Creed Brothers were the ones to be pinned during the three-way match last week. Gacy challenges Coffey for a match next week and if Gacy wins, the Dyad will get a rematch. And if Coffey wins, The Dyad can never challenge for the tag titles as long as Gallus are champions.

Josh Briggs & Fallon Henley vs Brooks Jensen & Kiana James – Mixed Tag Team Match

Jensen starts the match with quick punches. Briggs is loopy after the punches. Jensen hits a shoulder tackle before Briggs starts to fight back with his punches. Jensen is thrown to the floor with a back body drop after a bit of back and forth action. Jensen takes his time before returning. James tags in and Henley takes her down with a Thesz press. James hits a kick to midsection. They trade shots before James tackles her into the corner.

Henley runs her over with a clothesline before kicking her to the ropes. Henley rolls to the floor but Jensen stops her from following up on the attack. Briggs hits a basement slide dropkick on Jensen. Henley takes James to the apron. Jensen takes a cheap shot at Briggs on the floor. He saves James from falling off and sends her into Henley. Henley fights back with a crossbody on the floor. Briggs takes on Jensen with a suicide dive to take us to a break.

Jensen and Briggs are trading punches as we return. They hit each other with big boots. Henley hits a running elbow on James when they get the tags. James gets her on the shoulders but Henley hits her with a bulldog. James tags in Jensen and wants him to attack Henley but Briggs comes in with a dropkick. He unloads with punches and slams Jensen on the mat. James’ trash talk distracts him. Henley trips her with a low dropkick and tackles her into the steel steps.

Jensen hits a spinning back heel kick on Briggs. They trade more punches before Jensen hits a couple of lariats and a brainbuster to get a near fall. Henley tries to hype him up but James slams her face into the apron. James throws her bag into the ring. Jensen goes to hit the bag on Briggs but he ducks and Jensen knocks James off the apron. Briggs hits a spinning kick to get the pinfall.

Winners – Josh Briggs & Fallon Henley

After the match, Jensen goes to check on James but she tries to hit her. Jensen grabs her hand and asks how can she hit him if she loves him. James replies she never loved him. James leaves alone. Jensen is heart-broken and Briggs comes in to console him.


Dragon Lee is interviewed backstage and says he is interested in the Heritage Cup held by Naom Dar.


We get a video from Scrypts where he says we will get to know which one between him and Axiom believes in themselves more.


We get a video package for NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell.

Oba Femi vs Oro Mensah

Mensah goes for an arm wringer. Femi counters it but Mensah breaks it. Mensah goes for some shots before Femi slams him into the corner and hits a suplex. He hits a running uppercut before some shoulder tackles. Femi gets him up in the air. Mensah comes down and hits some chops. Femi knocks him off the top and sends him crashing to the floor. Mensah is pulled back into the ring and starts to fight back with kicks, punches and running elbows. He hits an overhead kick and a springboard kick. Mensah hits a running kick beofre Femi runs him over with a rolling forearm. He hits a pop-up powerbomb to get the pinfall.

Winner – Oba Femi

After the match, Gigi Dolin takes the commentator’s headset and talks about Jacy Jayne talking about her family last week. She says her brother will be in the front row next week to see Gigi beat up Jacy.


Drew Gulak is backstage with Charlie Dempsey and they say they have exposed Wes Lee’s insecurity which is leading him into prove himself time and again by defending his title. Drew Gulak says that is playing right in their hands and he will challenge Lee for the title next week.

After the break, Tyler Bate goes to Wes Lee and proposes that he should be in Lee’s corner during his title defense next week against Gulak. Lee agrees and he also agrees on doing some pre-match meditation.

Indi Hartwell(c) vs Roxanne Perez vs Tiffany Stratton – Triple Threat match for NXT Women’s Championship

Stratton talks trash with both opponents and then pinball her with punches. Indi goes to roll up Perez who reverses it to get a two-count. We cut to a break.

Stratton and Perez are fighting in the ring as we return. Perez counters an arm wringer but Stratton reverses it back. Perez gets a pin attempt but Stratton pushes her away into Indi on the apron to knock her out. Perez hits a headscissors but Stratton lands on her feet. Indi comes in and hits them with a double clothesline. She hits body slams on both opponents. Perez rolls her up to get a two-count.

Perez twist the arm of both the opponents and uses the ropes to hit a double arm drag. Perez lands on Indi when Stratton goes for a back body drop. She throws both women to the floor and hit them with suicide dive. She hits another suicide dive on Indi. Back to the ring, she hits a crossbody on Inid to get a two-count. Perez knocks Stratton off the apron. Indi counters with an inside cradle to get a two-count. Indi hits short clotheslines. Perez rolls her over for a two-count before Stratton hits her with a low dropkick.

A dropkick from Stratton sends Indi to the floor where she swipes both Indi and Perez with a senton. Stratton takes Perez back to the ring and goes to kick her. Stratton puts on a chinlock in the middle of the ring. Perez hits a jawbreaker to break free. Perez hits quick shots in the corner. She goes to the top and goes for a crossbody. Stratton picks her up but Perez rolls up to get a two-count. Perez puts Stratton on the top rope and hits a hurricanrana off the top to get a two-count.

They trade more shots. Perez hits kick to midsection before a side Russian Leg Sweep to get a two-count. Indi hobbles back to the ring to break a pin attempt. Indi kicks at Perez before a spinebuster on Stratton to get a two-count. Stratton pushes Indi to the floor and hits a moonsault on Perez. Indi pulls Stratton out of the ring and hits a running hammer elbow on Perez to get the pinfall.

Winner – Indi Hartwell

Tony D’Angelo and Stacks are near a river and it seems like they have thrown Pretty Deadly into the river. They say tag team gold is next for them.

I feel that kiana james and brooks jensen is very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very cold-hearted because they don’t care about nobody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fallon henly and josh briggs is much much more better and they have a lot of compassion for people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
