WWE NXT episode of September 7, 2021 which will see both men and women Tag Team Championships being defended. The current champions MSK has granted former champions Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch a shot at the title, while Io Shirai and Zoey Stark would try to be on the same page in their first title defense against Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter.

Apart from this, Kay Lee Rae will take part in her first match since moving to NXT against Ember Moon. And Santos Escobar wants to make an example of the wrestlers who want to target NXT North American Championship ahead of him when he faces Carmelo Hayes.

NXT Tag Team Championship: The tag champs MSK(Wes Lee & Nash Carter) feel that Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan deserve a title shot since they did not lose the title and were stripped due to an injury to Lorcan. NXT General Manager William Regal was not in a mood to grand Lorcan and Burch a title shot. But he agreed to MSK’s request. The title match will go down on the 7th September episode.

NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship: After a long gap, NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship will be in action and they will defend the titles against Kayden Carter and Kacy Catanzaro. There has been some rift between Io Shirai and Zoey Stark. Will they be able to co-exist?

Ember Moon vs Kay Lee Rae: Former NXT UK Women’s Champion Kay Lee Rae arrived on NXT and signaled her title intentions right away at NXT TakeOver 36. However, her path to the title is not going to be easy. Ember Moon is the first one to get offended by KLR taking the NXT women’s division so lightly.

Carmelo Hayes vs Santos Escobar: NXT Breakout Tournament winner Carmelo Hayes was asked about which championship he wanted to target. When he named North American Champion as one of the titles he was considering to challenge, Santos Escobar took offense to it. Escobar himself has his eyes on North American Title. This has led to a match between Escobar and Hayes next week. Who will come on top? Hayes, who is coming off winning a tournament! Or Escobar, who has recently defeated the champion Isaiah “Swerve” Scott.

Updates

Kay Lee Rae defeated Ember Moon after a lengthy back and forth match by hitting Gory Bomb to get the pinfall.

Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch claimed that they will win the tag titles back tonight. Pete Dunne and Ridge Holland were also there with them.

We get some footage from Indi Hartwell’s Bachelorette party. Indi said she was lost before Dexter Lumis. Candice Le Rae said she did not approve of Lumis before, but he really loves Indi.

Santos Escobar defeated Carmelo Hayes after hitting Phantom Driver to get the pinfall. Elektra Lopez hit Hayes with a slam on the ramp before the final move.

Roderick Strong and Malcolm Bivens welcomed Creed Brothers to Diamond Mine.

NXT General Manager William announced a Fatal 4-Way #1 Contender match for NXT Championship between Tommaso Ciampa, Kyle O’Reilly, LA Knight & Pete Dunne.

Creed Brothers(Julius & Brutus) defeated Chuckie Viola & Paxton Averill in a squash match.

Ember Moon talked about how she had a rough time in last three months. She feels tired but the lose to Kay Lee Rae has woken her up and she does not want to feel like this.

A pre-recorded from Hit Row. Scott said they should have Elektra Lopez coming. B-FAB said hitting her with a pipe is not a way to say hello and they have a problem now.

Io Shirai and Zoey Stark retained the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship over Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter. Shirai hit Catanzaro with a moonsault for the finish.

Kyle O’Reilly cut a backstage promo saying he has come a long way from losing big matches to defeating his former best friend. The endgame for him is to win NXT Championship and his journey starts next week.

We see Dexter Lumis’ Bachelor Party. Cameron Grimes is sponsoring the party with Odyssey Jones, Drake Maverick and referee joining with Johnny Gargano. They go for many activities like go-karting, axe throwing and Laser Tag. After winning their Laser Tag match, Gargano and Lumis end up with a high five. Everything is good between them and they are ready for the wedding.

Tian Sha defeated Virginia Ferry(enhancement talent) in a squash match.

LA Knight cut a promo from his car. He said he will become #1 contender next week over other NXT favorites.

Tommaso Ciampa also cut a promo claiming that he will become the #1 contender.

MSK defeated Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan to retain NXT Tag Team Championship via pinfall.

Post-match, Ridge Holland and Pete Dunne attack Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch.
