WWE NXT 2.0 Results from August 9, 2022 episode will be available here with live updates from Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, FL.

Wes Lee and Trick Williams will face off in a British Rounds wrestling match. Cora Jade would try to take out Zoey Stark to stop her from competing in NXT Women’s Championship match against Mandy Rose at NXT Heatwave next week. Nikkita Lyons will clash with Kiana James in a singles match.

Tony D’Angelo and Santos Escobar will meet for one final accord to settle their rivalry for once and for all. Will we see a match being set up for NXT Heatwave? What will Bron Breakker and JD McDonagh do before their title match next week?

Live Updates

Nikkita Lyons vs Kiana James

Lyons pushes James to the corner. James hits a kick to midsection and pulls her arm. Lyons hits back with a kick before James start to work on Lyons’ knee. Lyons misses James and ends up kicking the steel steps on the floor. James puts on a knee crank in the middle. Lyons fights out with punches and then drops James with multiple kicks. She hits a hip attack in the corner. James grabs the ropes to break the pin. James tries to use the rope for a pin attempt. Lyons hits a big roundhouse kick and split legged drop finisher to get the pin.

Winner- Nikkita Lyons

After the match, James hits Lyons with her bag.

The Creed Brothers are reviewing their match from last week with Apollo Crews. Roderick Strong comes in and takes offense on Crews being there. The Creeds reply that he was absent from their title defense last week. Strong says its was a test for them. Crews and Strong get into an argument now and Crews challenge Strong for a match. Strong accepts.

Lash Legends is backstage and stops Malik Blade to talk about her match from last week. We cut to the stage as she continues to talk.

Wes Lee vs Trick Williams – Rounds match

Round 1 – Both men are wearing boxing gloves. Williams hits a triple jab to start the action. Lee ducks a swing and fires back with a couple of body shits. More body shots follows before Williams trips him to unload on the mat for a while. They are back to thier feet and trade more punches. Williams hits a knee to body. Williams is now unloading in the corner. The referee pulls him back. Lee rains down with his punches and Williams is saved by the bell.

Carmelo Hayes gets into the ring in between the round and removes Williams’ gloves. Lee also removes his gloves.

Round 2 – Lee hits an armdrag as we cut to a break.

We are into round 4 when we return and Williams is leading with 1 fall. Lee hits calf kicks. Williams whips him to the corner. Williams is hobbling a bit. Lee rolls him up in a backslide to get a pinfall. Williams takes a cheap shot after the pinfall to knockout Lee.

Round 5 starts with Lee not 100%. Williams remains in control with suplexes, punches and more moves. Lee ducks a roundhouse kick and Williams’ leg get stuck in the ropes. Lee nails him with a roundhouse kick. He unloads with bodyshots and more kicks. A bulldog from Lee sets up a big punch with gloves on. Williams is knocked out and Lee easily gets the pin.

Winner- Wes Lee

Arianna James is in Andre Chase’s office to complain about Thea Hail punching her in the face. Chase orders that they settle their differences in the ring.

Carmelo Hayes has the mic in his hands and says that they were planning for an hour long celebration for Trick Williams’ victory. So, with time to kill, he wants to talk about how Nathan Frazer ran into answering his open challenge and got stepped on. Giovanni Vinci’s music hits and he comes into the ring. Vinci says Hayes was saved by Frazer last week when he ran past him to answer the open challenge. Vinci goes on to challenge Hayes for a title shot. Hayes takes offense on Vinci saying Frazer saved him from Vinci. He agrees on facing Vinci next week. Vinci tries to attack Hayes but both men continue to counter each other until the crew runs in to break it.

We get a video package for NXT Championship match at NXT Heatwave between Bron Breakker and JD McDonagh.

Lash Legends is still talking to Malik Blade. Blade looks tired of her talking. Edris Enofe comes in and Legends now starts to talk to her.

Ariana Grace vs Thea Hail

Hail hits armdrags to starts. Grace avoids an armdrag but Hail drops her with drop toe hold. Graces takes her down and unloads on the mat. Hail uses her hands to protect her face. Grace goes on to work on pinning her hands on the mat for a two-count. Grace puts on a shoulder lock. Hail fights back and drops Grace on her back.

Hail hits corner splashes and a dropkick. She hits a blockbuster and a standing moonsault to get a two-count. Graces misses a punch and Hail nails her with a big shot herself. Grace involves the referee to protect herself and kicks Hail from behind the referee. She drops Hail with her finisher to get the pin.

Winner- Ariana Grace

Apollo Crews is getting ready to make his entrance. The camera suddenly zooms into his green eyes and we see his vision/dream where all four men from Diamond Mine are on the mat, crying in pain.

We see the highlights of Solo Sikoa’s win over Von Wagner last week. Sikoa is in the medical room and the trainer tells him that his leg is jacked and he will be out for 4 to 6 weeks. Cameron Grimes comes and tells Solo that he respects him. Sikoa says he appreciates it and vows to go after the North American title when he gets fit. Grimes is not in good mood though.

Apollo Crews vs Roderick Strong

They lock up to start. Strong goes for a side headlock takedown. Apollo wrenches his arm. They switch waistlocks and Apollo gets a takedown. Strong pulls his arm and completes the side headlock takedown. They continue to wrestle on the mat for a while. Apollo slaps on Strong’s head to anger him. They push each other. Apollo converts an arm wrench into an armdrag and then nails Strong with a dropkick. He hits big chops in the corner.

Strong hits a kick to his knees. He follows up with a big blow to head and some chops. Strong hits a backbreaker. Apollo hits a big boots in the corner. Strong cuts off a dive with a dropkick. They fight on the apron now. Strong slams Apollo’s face into the apron. They drop each on the floor with a clothesline. We cut to a break.

Strong has put Crews in a submission as we return. Crews reverses a suplex. Both men are down. Crews goes to the top but Strong trips him. Strong puts on a shoulder lock briefly. Strong misses in the corner and Apollo drops him with clotheslines and dropkick. A corner splash and blockbuster gets him a two-count. Crews hits German suplexes. Strong hits back elbows. Crews answers with a deadlift German suplex.

Strong hits a big boot and uses a low bridge to send Apollo to the apron. He hits a knee to counter a tackle before dropping Crews on the apron with a side suplex. Strong puts on the Strong Hold(Boston Crab). Crews rolls over and kicks Strong out of the ring. He hits a power slam as Strong returns to the ring. Crews drops Strong on his knees. Strong hits him with a big boot. Crews drops him to the mat with chokeslam kind of move.

Winner- Apollo Crews

Lash Legends is still eating ears off Enofe and Blade. Enofe snaps at him. Pretty Deadly comes in to start an argument with Enofe and Blade for interrupting Lash. They reply that they have some built up aggression for listening to Lash for an hour.

Velantina Feroz and Yulisa Leon are with Sanga and they are discussing how they can improve. Katana Chance and Kayden Carter come in and praise them and ensure them they will get a title shot in future. Katana and Carter leave. Feroz and Leon are not sure if they are ready for title shot yet. Sanga gives them the example of Katana and Kayden who did not give up after failing to win the title multiple times. Sanga tells them he will help them find balance and perspective.

The Creed Brothers and Demon Kamp are watching their 8-man tag team match from two weeks ago. Julius picks on something but before he could make sure, Roderick Strong comes and ask them why they were not in his corner. Strong rants at them for talking with Apollo over their issues. He breaks the laptop on which they were watching the video.

Tony D’Angelo is waiting for Santos Escobar at a garden somewhere. Escobar arrives and Tony makes sure that he is alone. Tony tells him to just sit down when Escobar offers a handshake. Tony says he is lucky to be sitting here after hitting him with a brass knuckle. Escobar replies that last week was just payback. Tony reminds him that he is his boss. Escobar asks him Tony is a champion. Escobar says their arrangement is not gonna work. They continue to argue for a while. Escobar offers one final match next week. He offers to be gone from NXT if he losses. Tony says he will also keep three sheeps. Escobar also says if he wins, Legado will no longer be part of D’Angelo Family. Tony says the match will be a street fight. They shake hands on it.

Tiffany gets into her locker room. Wendy Choo is waiting for in her room with Night Vision goggles. She switches off the lights and beats up Tiffany in dark.

Edris Enofe & Malik Blade vs Pretty Deadly(Elton Prince & Kit Wilson)

Prince starts with a shoulder tackle against Blade. Blade hits a flying tackle. Enofe comes in for a dive and a body slam. A drop toe hold drops Prince and Blade comes back in. Wilson also tags in as Pretty Deadly double team on Blade. They continue to torment Blade for a while. They go on to pose on the floor and gets interrupted by Josh Briggs, Brook Jensen and Fallon Henley’s entrance. Enofe gets a hot tag and drops both opponents with quick moves.

Prince breaks a pin after an elbow drop from Enofe. Prince sends in a steel chair into the ring. Blade takes out Prince with a senton dive. Briggs tries to stop Wilson from using the chair but Wilson sends Enofe into the chair, knocking Briggs and Jenson off the apron. Prince slams Blade into the ring post and tags in. Pretty Deadly hits double team blockbuster to get the pin.

Winner- Pretty Deadly

After the match, Lash Legends hits Henley with a pump kick to knock her out.

Cameron Grimes is walking out of the arena. Some new recruit makes a comment on him. The security calms Grimes down. Joe Gacy comes in with Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid and asks him where he is going. Grimes replies that he is going home. Gacy asks him “To Whom?”

Cora Jade makes her entrance. Nikkita Lyons is with Zoey Starks as she warms up and gives her a pep talk.

We get a video package from Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne where they retrospect after losing another tag team title opportunity. They say change is coming and they will shatter a false reality.

Apollo Crews is being interviewed and is pumped over his win. Grayson Waller comes in and asks him why he is here. He tells Crews that the rest of locker room is scared to tell him that he is not welcome. He says he has already forced another man to run away from NXT, and he could be the next.

Cora Jade vs Zoey Stark

Zoey Stark now comes out for the match. Mandy Rose is on the commentary. Cora pushes Zoey. Zoey drops her with a tackle. Cora gets a roll-up to get a two-count. Zoey hits an armdrag now. Cora goes to the ropes and catches Zoey with a knee. More shots from Cora. Zoey hits chops and a clothesline to get a two-count. Cora nails a forearm. Zoey takes her down with waistlock. Zoey continues to keep up with attack. She hits a springboard elbow drop. Cora hits her with a step-up knee strike as we cut to a break.

We return to see Zoey kicking out of a pin. Cora throws her to the ropes and hits her with an elbow. Cora hits a clothesline to thwart Zoey’s comeback attempt. Stark counters with a pinning predicament. She catches another step-up knee and drops Jade to the mat. Jade pulls out a stick but Stark ducks it and hits Jade with a German suplex.

Stark nails Cora with forearm shots and clotheslines. Some kicks and low dropkick gets her a two-count. Zoey hits another German suplez. Cora nails her with a forearm. Zoey counters a neckbreaker and hits a superkick to get a two-count. Cora trips her to the ropes and hits a step-up knee and a hammerlock DDT to get a two-count. Cora hits sliced break to get another two-count. Cora goes to pick her stick again, but Roxanne Perez has already taken it away. Zoey hits flipping cradle facebreaker to get the pin pointing towards Mandy on the commentary table.

Winner- Zoey Stark

After the match, Roxanne Perez gets into the ring but Jade ducks her stick shots and runs away. Mandy tries to attack Zoey but Zoey hits her with flipping cradle facebreaker. Zoey poses with the title belt to close the show.
