NXT Battleground 2025: Full Guide (Card, Results, Streaming)
WWE NXT Battleground 2025 took place on May 25, 2025, at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, FL, US. The event started at 8 PM ET on Peacocks in US and Netflix worldwide.
It was the third Battleground event under NXT banner and the eighth event overall in the series. TNA World Championship match was the main event and it was the first occasion that the title was contested at a WWE event.

- Sol Ruca(c) defeated Kelani Jordan in a singles match via pinfall to retain NXT Women’s North American Championship
- Hank and Tank(Hank Walker & Tank Ledger) & Josh Briggs defeated The Culling(Shawn Spears, Brooks Jensen & Niko Vance) in a tag team match via pinfall
- Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo defeated Tony D’Angelo in a singles match via pinfall
- Stephanie Vaquer(c) defeated Jordynne Grace in a singles match via pinfall to retain NXT Women’s Championship
- Oba Femi(c) defeated Myles Borne in a singles match via pinfall to retain NXT Championship
- Trick Williams defeated Joe Hendry(c) in a singles match via pinfall to win TNA World Championship
MATCH CARD
Stephaine Vaquer(c) vs Jordynne Grace – NXT Women’s Championship
Stephaine Vaquer defended NXT Women’s title at Stand & Deliver 2025 event against Jordynne Grace, Giulia and Jaida Parker. On April 22 NXT episode, Grace and Giulia confronted Vaquer after her match. The following week, Grace & Iyo Sky defeated Giulia & Roxanne Perez in a tag team match. NXT General Manager Ava then scheduled a match between Grace and Giulia on NXT May 6 episode with the winner getting the title shot at Battleground. Grace won this match to set up the clash against Vaquer at Battleground.
Oba Femi(c) vs Myles Bourne – NXT Championship
NXT announced a Battle Royal on May 6, 2025 episode to find the new #1 contender for NXT Champion Oba Femi at Battleground. Myles Bourne won this match to set up the clash against Femi.
Joe Hendry(c) vs Trick Williams – TNA World Championship
On NXT April 22 episode, TNA World Champion Joe Hendry tried to challenge NXT Champion Oba Femi. Trick Williams, who had already done the same moments earlier, took offense and said that he was “first in line” for the title shot. The segment led to Femi and Hendry sending Williams on his way. At TNA Rebellion 2025, Williams attacked Hendry after his successful title defense.
On NXT April 29 episode, Hendry called out Williams, but Darkstate attacked him even before Williams would arrive and insult Hendry as not being a viable threat for him. On TNA Impact May 1 episode, Hendry again called out Williams again, who appeared via a satellite feed. In the main event, Williams attacked Hendry during his six-man tag team match, costing his team the match and then laid him out after the match.
A tag team match between Hendry & Elijah vs Williams & a tag team partner was announced for TNA Under Siege. On NXT May 6 episode, Williams interfered in Hendry’s six-man tag team match against DarkState and costing his team once again. Later on the show, Hendry interfered in the battle royal which allowed Elijah to eliminate Williams from the match. NXT General Manager Ava then announced that she conferred with TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella, Hendry would defend his title against Williams at Battleground.
Tony D’Angelo vs. Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo
The Tony D’Angelo Family were feuding with Darkstate which led to a match between the two sides at Stand & Deliver 2025. Tension were also building up between Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo with Tony being not happy with Stacks about not consulting with him. At the event, Stacks turned on Tony, leading to their team losing the match.
On NXT April 28, Tony stated that Stacks put the group in danger. Lorenzo replied via satellite that Tony had become soft and was incapable of leading the group. On NXT May 13 episode, Stacks appeared outside Adrianna Rizzo’s safe which distracted Tony during his match against Wes Lee. Later that night, Tony went to the safe house where Stacks attacked him. NXT then announced a match between them at Battleground.
Sol Ruca(c) vs Kelani Jordan – NXT Women’s North American Championship
At Stand & Deliver, Sol Ruca won a ladder match to win NXT Women’s North American title. Kelani Jordan and Ruca’s tag team partner Zaria were also part of the match. On NXT April 29, Jordan mocked Ruca and Zaria for not defending the title every week. Zaria told Jordan that she would have to face her first. Zaria beat Jordan on May 4 NXT episode. The following week, Kelani challenged Zaria for a rematch and asked to challenge for Ruca’s title if she won. Kelani won this match to set the title clash against Ruca at Battleground.
Hank Walker, Tank Ledger & Jsoh Briggs vs The Cullings(Brooks Jensen, Niko Vance, and Shawn Spears)
During May 13 NXT episode, Josh Briggs was mourning over Pro Wrestling Noah’s Yoshiki Inamura ending their tag team partnership and returning to Japan. NXT Tag Team Champions Hank Walker & Tank Ledger tried to comfort him, but they were interrupted by Shawn Spears and the other members of the Culling. This led to a match between Briggs and Spears at May 20 NXT episode where Spears won after an interference from the Culling. The Culling attacked Briggs post match when he attacked Spears. Hank and Tank ran out to save Briggs. Later, a six-man tag team match was announced for Battleground.
