WWE Extreme Rules 2022 Results- Rollins v Riddle, Belair v Bayley
Welcome to the Live Results blog for WWE Extreme Rules 2022 event on October 8, 2022, from Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA.
Six different stipulation matches are booked in what is expected to be the last event in the Extreme Rules series. SmackDown Women’s Championship will be on the line as Liv Morgan defends the title in an Extreme Rules match against Ronda Rousey. RAW Women’s title will be on the line in a ladder match as Bianca Belair and Bayley’s rivalry continues.
Drew McIntyre will get his wish to get his hands on Karrion Kross in a strap match. Imperium’s Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci will face The Brawling Brutes Sheamus, Butch and Ridge Holland in a Good Old Fashioned Donny Brookhouse match.
Finn Balor, the current leader of Judgment Day, faces Edge, the former leader, in an “I Quit” match. Daniel Cormier will be the special guest referee in a Fight Pit Match between Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle. Which of these Extreme matches will be the match of the night?

Live Updates
The pre-show is live with Kevin Patrick hosting the show. The pre-show is embedded above. Jerry “The King” Lawler, Booker T, and Peter Rosenberg are the analysts. They go through the match card and start to discuss RAW Women’s Championship match.
It is pointed out that Edge is 9-0 since Crown Jewel last year. Will he win again tonight? Seth Rollins vs Matt Riddle is confirmed to be the main event. Ariel Helwani narrates a special video package for the main event.
A special opening package with Paul Heyman opens the main show.
Imperium(Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci) vs The Brawling Brutes(Sheamus, Butch & Ridge Holland) – Good Old Fashioned Donny Brookhouse Match
The Brawling Brutes make their entrance. However, The White Rabbit video package suddenly starts(the same one that aired last night at SmackDown). The broadcast cut back to arena after a few seconds. Imperium make their entrance now.
An all-out brawl starts the match. Butch and Vinci are outside the ring already and onto the announce table. Kaiser and Holland are in the ring while Gunther and Sheamus are on the floor. Butch comes back to hit a Gamengiri on Kaiser as Holland throws him on the turnbuckle. Butch hits a dropkick on Kaiser while he was in a Tree of Woe. Gunther returns to the ring to hit Butch with a big chop. Imperium take over control in the ring. A 3-on-1 assault on Sheamus on the floor. Sheamus is whipped into the steel steps. Butch dives on them but Vinci drives him through the barricade. Gunther hits machine gun chops on Sheamus while Vinci and Kaiser hold him. Gunther hits a side slam on Sheamus on top of a table.
Imperium beat down Butch and Holland in the ring. Butch drops Gunther off before he is sent outside. Holland hits a back body drop on both Vinci and Kaiser. Gunther hits him with a big boot. Vinci and Butch hit Imperium bomb on the floor. Butch is alone against 3 in the ring and gets overwhelmed. Gunther holds him down upside down in the corner and Vinci & Kaiser hit him with stereo dropkick. Imperium pose in the middle of the ring. Gunther hits big chops on Butch. Sheamus is back on his feet. Kaiser and Vinci go to deal with him but he deals with them easily. Gunther shouts at him to get into the ring.
Gunther hits a German suplex. Sheamus hits a clothesline and a body slam. Sheamus hits 10 Beats of Bodhran on Gunther before hitting White Noise. Sheamus hits a Brogue kick but Vinci breaks up the pin with a springboard splash. Holland comes in and Vinci drops him with a clothesline. Butch catches Kaiser midair with an uppercut. Gunther hits a dropkick on both Butch and Holland. Sheamus puts on cloverleaf on Gunther. Kaiser hits Sheamus with a shillelagh to break it. All 6 men are in the ring now again.
Sheamus and Gunther rise with their heads clasped against each other. They trade shots and chops until they go down again. Both teams regroup in their respective corners. Kaiser and Vinci drop Butch and Holland. Sheamus hits a Brogue kick on Gunther and Vinci pulls out Sheamus to break the pin. Imperium clear the announce table. Holland saves Sheamus from announce table. Butch hits a moonsault on Vinci and Kaiser. Gunther hits Sheamus with a bigger shillelagh, but he kicks out of the pin.
Butch and Holland come in to stop Gunther’s powerbomb. They hold down Gunther as Sheamus nails him with shillelagh. More shillelaghs are brought it as Butch and Holland use them on Kaiser and Vinci. Sheamus sends Gunther through the announce table with the Celtic Cross. Vinci is alone in the ring now, held down by Butch and Holland. Sheamus hits him with Brogue kick to get the pin.
Winner – The Brawling Brutes
The Brawling Brutes celebrate their win and shout “Banger after banger, after banger, after banger” as they head to the back.
A video package for Bianca Beliar.
The Miz is backstage and gets interviewed. He asks to not say Dexter Lumis’ name. Miz says he is here to talk to Triple H about his birthday celebration on Monday. He notices Philadelphia Flyers mascot and asks him why is he here. The mascot hands him an Extreme Rules shirt and asks him to put it on. Miz refuses, throws the shirt away and walks out.
Liv Morgan(c) vs Ronda Rousey – Extreme Rules Match for WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship
Ronda Rousey enters after the video package for this match. She is giving tribute to Judo Gene Labelle with her ring gear. Liv Morgan enters next as Ronda waits for her. Liv ducks under and tries to get the baseball bat but Ronda pulls her back. Ronda brings her down to the mat. Liv counters with a pin attempt. Liv gets her hands on the baseball bat. Ronda catches it and takes it away after a judo takedown. Ronda throws the bat out of the ring. Ronda hits a knee as Liv was coming off a springboard. Ronda puts on an ankle lock and Liv kicks her to the apron before kicking her away.
Ronda traps her in the apron cloth and unloads on her with punches. Ronda goes to pick the baseball bat but returns only to be sprayed with a fire extinguisher. Ronda comes back with a Piper’s Pit. Liv jumps off the steel steps but runs into a bat swing by Ronda. Back to the ring, Liv hits an enzuigiri.
Liv hits Ronda with the bat. Ronda hits Liv with a strap. She ties Liv to a ringpost with the strap and hits her on her leg with the bat. Liv drives her face-first into the apron to stop that attack. Liv brings a table into the ring. Ronda slams her face into the same table. Ronda hits a step up knee strike. She puts on a leg choke on the ropes before transitioning to an armbar. They both fall to the floor when Ronda gets unbalanced. Liv hits Ronda into her ribs with a steel chair. Liv sets up chair in the ring but it gets knocked off by Ronda. Ronda blocks a backstabber but Liv hits it the second time.
Liv unloads on Ronda with a chair before hitting a codebreaker using it. Ronda kicks out of the pin though. Liv sets up Ronda on the table in the middle. She goes to the top and hits a leg drop. Ronda kicks out again. Ronda puts on the armbar immediately after it. Liv powers up and hits a powerbomb to get another two-count. Ronda puts more pressure on the armbar. Liv is trying to fight off. Ronda adjusts the submission move and Liv fades out. The referee calls for the match.
Winner – Ronda Rousey
Liv was smiling as she was fading out. Ronda gets the title and celebrates her win.

Drew McIntyre vs Karrion Kross – Strap Match
Drew McIntyre comes out after the video package for the match. The screen turns black and white as Scarlett and Karrion Kross enter. Drew puts on the strap. Kross is smiling as the referee hands him the strap. Kross throws the strap to the floor and Scarlett pulls it. Kross take advantage of the distraction to attack Drew. Drew fights back and they get into the crowd. The bell has not rung yet. They fight in the crowd for a while before Kross brings Drew back to ringside. Drew blocks a suplex and hits one of his own on the floor. Drew slams Kross’ face on the ringpost. He hits a sidewalk slam on the apron.
Drew picks up the strap and puts it on Kross’ wrist. The bell rings to start the match officially. Drew slams the strap on his back. He continues to do so for a while until they go to the floor again. Scarlett gets in Drew’s face and Kross pulls Drew into the ring post using the strap. He repeats it a few times. Back to the ring, Kross hits a cross armbreaker. Kross works on Drew’s shoulder. Drew hits a couple of chops. Drew blocks Kross Jacket. Kross slams him with the strap again. Kross drags Drew to the floor and drives him to the announce table.
Kross continues to slams the strap on Drew’s back for a while as Scarlett screams at him for more. Kross hits a Saito suplex as they return to the ring to get a two-count. Drew starts to hulk up as Kross slams him with strap. Drew hits a belly-to-belly suplex and a neck breaker. Kross blocks DDT but Drew hits him with a spinebuster to get a two-count with jackknife. They trade punches in the middle before starting to hit each other with the strap. Drew gets the upper hand and hits a Futureshock DDT. Drew was getting ready for Claymore but Scarlett gets into the ring and sprays pepper spray on Drew’s eyes. Kross hits him with Kross hammer and gets the pin. The crowd is booing the result.
Winner – Karrion Kross
Kross and Scarlett embrace on the ramp to celebrate the win. The referee is trying to soothe Drew’s eyes using a towel and water.
We get a video package for Edge, highlighting his return until he formed Judgment Day.
The Miz is backstage talking to Maryse on the phone when the mascot comes in to bother him again.
Bianca Belair(c) vs Bayley – Ladder Match for WWE RAW Women’s Championship
Both women try to unload. They collide in the middle in crossbody. Both of them bring in a ladder each to the ring. Bianca’s ladder is bigger and Bayley has to go and pull her down. They do a tug of war with the ladder and Bianca pushes her to the floor. Bayley pulls Bianca off the ladder and drives her into a ladder on the floor. Bianca lands on her feet as Bayley tries to catapult her into the ladder. Bayley stops her from climbing the ladder. Bianca drives her into the ladder. She sets up the ladder in the middle of the ring and hits a body slam on it.
Bianca hits a moonsault on Bayley over the ladder. Bayley slams her into the corner using a ladder. Bayley hits a big elbow before sending her into the ladder with a sunset flip. Bayley tries to set up a ladder in the middle but Bianca forces her to break it up and hit Bianca with it in the corner. Bayley pushes Bianca out of the ring with a ladder. She bridges a ladder on the barricade and steel steps. Bayley hits a flying elbow by setting up Bianca on the ladder. She breaks stablizers of one of the ladder. Bianca tries to attack her but she drives Bianca into the apron.
Bayley goes to slams a ladder on Bianca’s foot but Bianca counters. Bianca sets up the ladder in the middle of the ring again. They try to race to the top and pulls each other off. Bianca hits a spinebuster. Bayley dumps the ladder and Bianca falls to the floor. Bayley pulls out one of the hinge from her knee brace. She goes for running knee but Bianca avoids it in the corner. Bianca hits KOD, sets up the ladder and climbs. Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai run out and pull Bianca back. Bianca fights back and hits both of them with KOD at the same time.
Bayley hits Bianca with a ladder once again. She sets up a ladder in the corner to slam Bianca’s face into it. Bayley hits Roseplant. She goes to trap Bianca under a ladder and tries to climb on it. Bianca powers out and climbs up on the other side. Bayley slams her face onto the ladder after bringing Bianca’s braids in play. Bianca then slams her braids on Bayley’s back. Bianca hits KOD on top of a ladder. She climbs the ladder and brings down the title this time.
Winner – Bianca Belair
Bianca celebrates on top of the ladder as Bayley, Dakota and Iyo are down on the floor.
We get a video package for Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship reign as his Tribal Chief persona.
Edge vs Finn Balor – I Quit Match
Edge comes out after the video package. Finn Balor comes out with a spiked face mask. They circle around before Edge slams Balor into the corner. He unloads for a while before hitting cutter. Edge drives him into the corner again. Edge rakes his face but Balor refuses to quit. Balor trips Edge into the corner and starts striking on his knee. Balor hits a chop before locking Edge’s knee on the ropes. Edge punches on the back of his knees to break the lock. Balor brings Edge to the mat and puts on figure four leg lock. Edge struggles for a while but manages to reverse it.
They are into the crowd now as Balor is trying to run away. Edge hits a suplex on the exposed floor in the middle of the crowd. Balor refuses to quit. Edge brings out a hockey stick and runs over Balor with it. They are on the kick-off show set. Edge puts on the crossface using the hockey stick on top of the set. Balor slips off the set to break the lock. Balor slams Balor’s face into the stairs. Balor climbs the stairs. He drives Edge into the tunnel before slamming his face into it. Edge slams Balor’s face into the overhead.
Balor sidesteps as Edge charges and sends him into the steel railings on the stairs. Edge goes down the stairs. Balor chokes him against the railings for a while. Balor brings down to the ringside, using different weapons to strike him on the way down. Balor brings out a chair and hits it into Edge’s ribs. Balor continues to use the chair for a while. Edge refuses to quit and Balor goes to slam the chair on his back. Edge still says, “I don’t quit.” Balor sets up the chair in the corner. He hits chops and a side Russian Leg Sweep. Balor puts on crossface. He has to change to knee strikes into the ribs when Edge does not give up.
Edge counters when Balor goes to send him into the chair. Edge slams chair on Balor. He hurts Balor’s knees. Edge puts on Edge-cutor. Damian Priest runs out but Edge clotheslines him to the floor. Dominik comes out and catches Balor. Edge hits Balor with a spear, which also takes down Dominik and Priest. Edge brings Balor back to the ring. He gets ready for another spear but Rhea Ripley appears to handcuff Edge to the ropes. Priest and Dominik get into the ring now to stand with Balor. Edge tries to fight back with one hand but they overwhelm him. Balor brings out kendo sticks and starts to slam it on Edge’s back.
The referee asks him if he wants to quit. Edge refuses. Rey Mysterio comes out with a chair. He hits Priest with the chair. He gets into the ring to attack Balor. Dominik knocks Rey off the apron. Dominik stomps Rey’s face into the floor viciously. Balor unloads with more kendo stick shots. Beth Pheonix comes out to the ring to attack Balor. Balor is thrown out of the ring. Dominik tries to get in but Pheonix knocks him off the apron. Rhea comes in and goes after Pheonix. Pheonix hits her with a spear. Pheonix removes Edge’s handcuffs.
Edge hits Priest with a spear. Edge comes face-to-face with Dominik now, who is asking for forgiveness. Edge hits him with a low blow and throws him out of the ring. Balor hits Edge with a slingblade. Edge counters with a spear. He hits another spear and a third one. Edge asks Pheonix to get a chair and she follows. Edge breaks the chair leg to use for crossface. Rhea takes out Pheonix with brass knuckles. Priest hits Edge with Chokeslam. Balor hits Edge with Coupe de Grace 3 times as Priest and Dominik hold down Edge.
Balor takes the mic and asks Edge to quit. Edge tells him to go to hell. Rhea slams Pheonix’s head into the mat. She sets up Pheonix for con-chair-to, but Edge stops her by saying “I Quit”. Balor asks him again. Edge says “I Quit” again. Rhea hits con-chair-to on Pheonix regardless.
Winner – Finn Balor
Edge checks on Pheonix as Judgment Day leave to the ramp and celebrate. Some officials get into the ring as Edge keeps screaming for a doctor.
We get a video package for Charlotte Flair.
Gritty the Mascot is behind The Miz once again. He offers an Extreme Rules shirt to him, prompting The Miz to attack him. Dexter Lumis is behind him when he is finished. Lumis chokes out Miz. He pulls up Gritty who also kicks at The Miz.
Seth Rollins vs Matt Riddle – Fight Pit Match
Damiel Cormier is the first one to come out after the video package. Riddle follows him before Rollins comes out. The fight pit comes down. Riddle starts with MMA style calf kicks and body kicks. Rollins is tyring to keep his distance. Riddle hits more body kicks before a takedown. Riddle springs off the cage to hit a sidekick to his face. Riddle is unloading on Rollins. Cormier tries to pull him off but Riddle pushes him back. DC throws him off into the cage. Rollins takes advantage to attack Riddle.
Riddle goes for an arm triangle. Rollins overpowers him for a powerbomb. Riddle puts on the arm triangle again. Rollins slams him into the cage. DC checks on Riddle but Rollins puts him to the side to attack Riddle some more. DC warns Rollins to get his hands off him. Rollins rakes Riddle’s face into the cage. He hits rolling elbow and a forearm to the neck. DC starts to count down. Riddle gets to his feet at 8.
Rollins hits a couple of superkicks to put him down again. DC counts down. Riddle was about to get up but Rollins starts to unload on him. Riddle tries to counter but Rollins slams him to the cage and hits a suplex into the cage. Seth hits a frog splash from the top of cage platform. Rollins starts to talk trash as Riddle gets up again. Rollins goes for a submission. Riddle tries to counter with a back body drop. Rollins lands on his feet but Riddle hits him with RKO.
Both men get up and start to trade strikes. Riddle hits a flurry of strikes. Rollins avoids RKO and hits the stomp. DC waits and checks on Riddle for a while, delaying the count. Riddle gets up at 9. He avoids a stomp from the middle of the cage. Riddle gets him up on his shoulders. Rollins catches the cage and gets up on the platform. Rollins asks Riddle to get up to the platform. Riddle gets up to the platform. Rollins tries to bite him but Riddle manages to put on body scissors. Rollins slams his face into the cage a bunch of times.
Rollins hits a buckle bomb in the corner of the cage. DC is telling Rollins that knockout or submission could only take place on the mat. Rollins hits a pedigree on the platform. Rollins asks DC to countdown Riddle. DC tells him to bring Riddle back to the mat. Riddle hits RKO on the platform. Rollins falls to the mat. Riddle hits floating bro from the top of the platform. DC checks on both men before starting to countdown. Both men get up again. Riddle puts on the arm triangle. Seth slams him into the cage a few times but Riddle holds onto the lock. Rollins passes out and Riddle wins via submission.
Winner – Matt Riddle
The cage goes up. DC and Riddle go to the stage. DC raises Riddle’s hands when the lights go off. The fans have turned on flashlights throughout the arena.
We hear a husked voice on the speakers. We see Huskus the pig under a spotlight in the crown. Mercy, the Rabbitt and other characters appear in different sections of the crowd one by one. A mask suddenly appears on the commentary desk. We see The Fiend in the front row briefly. We cut back to the stage where a door appears. On the screen, we see Firefly Funhouse in a broken state with all the characters in a shelved state. A masked man sings on the TV screen, but it is a different mask. The camera pans back to the door set up on the stage. The door opens and we see The Fiend’s Lantern. The masked man comes out of the door. He removes the mask and it is Bray Wyatt, not the Fiend.
